2 reasons why Fedorov and McCarty will become Wings

The Wings need to sell tickets. If they can't sell out for playoff games, they are in trouble. Fedorov makes more sense because of his ability to still play and help the team. Mac is still a fan favorite and they want to get him in the fold. This may all become about ticket sales...cheeks in the seats.

This is an astouding argument that has never been brought up before!

Look, Illitch isn't stressing for money. He'll put the best team on the ice that he can, not the one that will bring in the most people.

The Wings lowered ticket prices the other day, including the playoffs.

The Red Wing's franchise isn't a media circus. If these 2 were to come back it would be because Holland thinks they can help this team win the cup and not just to put asses in the seats!!

Exactly...the Wings want to win the Cup, not do some PR stunt. IF Feds and Mac can play and IF there are spots for them on the roster, then they will be looked at as trade deadline acquisitions. Otherwise, Holland won't sign them.

I mean, I would love to see both of them wearing the winged wheel again, but if it's because the Wings want to sell more tickets and if it means better, more productive players will be forced to sit, forget it.

How much did they go down by? I already bought tickets for two regular season games already! I could have saved a bit if I waited? Ah man, haha, oh well, it's ok.

Fedorov yes. McCarty no. Why? Because Illitch is up there in years. He has built the Wings & Tigers into championship teams. I think he wants to win both the Stanley cup & World series in the same year.

Many people (the media) are all on board with Feds coming back because they know he can still play and play well and play both ways. McCarty is done. I hate to say it but he is.

2 reasons why feds and dmac wont be wings.

- There old and washed up.

- We dont need them.

Simple and Quick. Modernistic, Grittzkey Is The s***, And That Is It.

dude what happened, i saw a post of yours saying you were warming up to the idea of feds coming back!! just when i thought you were coming around and not have all your posts be negative. and i'm not even talking fedorov topics, its seems you always have negative things to say. in fact i challenge you to find a topic where you posted something positive. haha

I think some of you would rather see these old players return and have this team lose, rather than win without those players. Whatever happened for cheering for what's on the front of the jersey, and not the back?

Great point!

Read the first post it explains everything. The Wings aren't lowering regular season ticket prices one penny, they just aren't raising them either. What's happening is the playoff ticket prices are going to be lower than last season, with a few sweet deals for season ticket holders.

Back on topic....

Sergei:

I love Sergei, more than most people on the boards. I wouldn't mind seeing him back here, but unless Rex and Sammy are going back to the Jackets (I'm not suggesting this as a trade possibility) than he just doesn't fit into the roster. He is a second line forward, and with those two guys still on the roster, there really isn't room. Yes, he is a very talented player, but you gotta believe that Babs and Kenny are going to go with what they have before they deal for an overpaid, aging vet.

Mac:

Maybe next season. This season is a loooooooooooooong shot.

Finally, Dandy:

I actually think this would be a solid pickup for the Wings. He is a great guy to have on your playoff roster. With his versatility, speed, and hard nosed style, he couldn't do anything but help.

One more tidbit, for the playoffs, the NHL expands the roster size, I believe by 2 skaters. So in theory, the Wings wouldn't really be wasting roster space on a PR move in reacquiring these two guys.
