Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 as per:Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC 1mMills (CHI) and Eaves (DET) on waivers Interesting.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Had to be done to make space for E tomorrow right? I always liked Eaves quite a bit. It's a shame injuries really derailed his playing time with the Red Wings and then he never seemed to get the opportunity to consistently remain in the lineup. His days were numbered once Holland decided to bring Miller back. 2 Z Winged Dangler and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this

13dangledangle 968 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Well that answers that. The last two waived-Tootoo & Eaves are my 2 favorite haha. Edit: meaning my favorite out of waivables Edited November 14, 2013 by 13dangledangle 1 Z Winged Dangler reacted to this
GoWings! 179 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Why can't Sammy go on waivers Holland s***s the bed again. The only option would be to buy him out. He has a no trade clause.
evilzyme 769 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 The only option would be to buy him out. He has a no trade clause. NTC(trade clause) isn't the same as a NMC(movement clause). I believe he is able to go on waivers but wouldn't provide much cap space if at all due to his 35+ contract. CBA guru's help me here.
Euro_Twins 4,485 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 The only option would be to buy him out. He has a no trade clause. 2 things, no buyout allowed till the seasons done, and he has a no trade clause, not a no move clause, they can waive him.

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 I think Sammy WOULD be waived over eaves if he didn't have a 35+ contract that would only provide like 100k in cap savings. whereas eaves provides like 900k or something 2 55fan and haroldsnepsts reacted to this
wingedominance13 112 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 This is sad. He deserves to play, somewhere in the NHL, the kid is a warrior. Reminds me a young cleary.. you know when he could still skate and contribute. 2 Hockeymom1960 and LidsFan reacted to this

Sammy can be waived but the Wings only see cap relief of $100k if he goes unclaimed so he still counts for $2.9m against the cap. With Eaves, it's $275k I believe against the cap if he goes unclaimed.
BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 good luck Patty. Hope he gets a chance to play somewhere! Unfortunately with a good majority of teams feeling the crunch, I don't know that there's anywhere for him to go.
ogreslayer 1,069 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 I don't see Patty getting claimed I've seen some speculation that there are around 3 teams that might be interested, including Chicago.
Rivalred 630 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Just heard and not happy they are letting him go; I am trying to refrain from screaming and spitting on my phone screen due to Cleary and Sammy being on this team. The bar has officially been lowered... 2 LidsFan and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
BadgerBob 297 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 (edited) Meanwhile, Cleary and Samuelsson are back on our "powerplay" . Really steamed at Kenny and Babs for bringing in those two scrubs right now.. edit:spelling Edited November 14, 2013 by BadgerBob 2 Z Winged Dangler and LidsFan reacted to this
dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Its really disappointing because Eaves is a much more effective bottom 6 player than Cleary and Sammy. He is getting waived for Holland's idiocy. 7 Hockeymom1960, roboturner, Red Crazy and 4 others reacted to this
Red Crazy 201 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 Sounds like Cleary is in for Tatar against Washington. I am not very happy with Babcock and Holland these days. Good luck to Patty! I hope he gets claimed and lights it up 1 LidsFan reacted to this
13dangledangle 968 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 I am official annoyed with the cleary signing. Reason #1 is that he keeps Goose down and #2 is that he has played and Tatar scratched. I gave Kenny and Co. The benefit of the doubt however it seems he really did not have any plan to fit Cleary in here... 1 LidsFan reacted to this
rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 1. Do we have to explain the Sammy thing every time someone is waived? 2. I like Eaves, but he's very replaceable. Just like Emmerton (who I also liked) 2 raven756 and wingedominance13 reacted to this

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 According to Ted Kulfan, Eaves found out he had been waived from reporters. If true that really sucks. If true, Holland isn't as classy as they make him out to be
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted November 14, 2013 According to Ted Kulfan, Eaves found out he had been waived from reporters. If true that really sucks. I really hope that's not true. I've always like Eaves. The guy competes and has come through a lot to keep playing but now is paying the price for Holland's missteps. That being said, Holland should've never signed both him and Miller.
