2 games up

honestly the rangers looked better in both games. seems like most of the play is always in the kings zone. props to the kings for finding a way

Kings win largely due to the NHL officials STILL not getting the calls right for goalie interference. Lunquivst was clearly interfered with on that 3rd goal, but yet that goal counted, which paved the way for the comeback. The NHL consistently gets that call wrong and what a shame that that goal is what killed the rangers tonight, even though it should not have counted.

I cannot count how many times we have been burned with that rule. IMO this is why coaches should have 1 chance a game to challenge a call.

Very true. This isn't like baseball or basketball where you have opportunities to over come bad calls. Poor officiating like that can really break you. It's sad and pathetic. Not surprising. When they announced ohalleran was the official I knew some bulls*** would happen. That guy is an asshat.

O'Halloran does not call goalie interference like he used to back when the Red Wings were supreme to the rest of the league. I watch a lot of games for lots of different teams during the season and he is actually one of my favourite refs these days. What I have liked about him the past couple seasons is that he is one of the more consistent refs and he tends to let things go more often then not. I can understand where he is coming from not wanting to make the call tonight on the 3rd goal because from where he was standing he thought he saw a push.

The problem I have is really two. First of all, the NHL has done a poor job explaining to the refs what to call for goalie interference. Refs simply never know how to call in and that is on the league. That leads to my second point that plays like that happen so fast, it is easy for the ref to see something that did not actually happen. Like tonight, I understand O'Halloran thought there was the Ranger player who pushed the Kings player. But if the league would allow the coach's challenge one per team, then we would not even be discussing that right now.

The goaltender interference non call was typical O'Halloran garbage. How is this guy still working?

Not just working, but in the Cup finals. So he's apparently the best of the best.

I'm rooting for the Kings but yeah, I can't believe that goal was allowed. The NHL has zero standard when it comes to goaltender interference. This playoffs alone it's been all over the map.

Price can intentionally jump into a player and get a goal disallowed, but last night's counts? I don't get it.

On top of the goaltender interference, last night's officiating was pretty terrible all around.

They should be reviewing every goal for sure. In the end, goaltender interference is really just a judgement call. As a goalie, I have been through some similar calls in my time. Some of them I thought have been fair and others have been total garbage. One thing is for certain though, the better team always wins a 7 game series. The refs may have blown it tonight, but if you are a Rangers fan, you should be really pissed off about your team blowing not one 2 goal lead, but two of them in consecutive games.

The Rangers went into this game with a 10-0 record when leading after two in these playoffs. Now they are 10-1. That shows some great resiliency from the Kings for sure.

IMHO, the NHL referees are the best among all other referees in professional sports. The NHL chose they best they had for the finals, and every year there are still people who look at the refs and scratch their heads over certain calls. So long as there is a human element to refereeing, there will always be discussion about them.

As much as can be said about the third goal, NY should really focus on coughing up lead after lead if they want a chance to win this thing. Letting a call/non-call dominate will only allow the Kings to win faster.

So, after a playoffs full of evenly matched, game 7-filled rounds, we come to the SCF and it looks like we're back to the old sweep. The Kings are great, but I was hoping for something a little more competitive.
