That was the greatest hockey game ever played.

It's gotta hurt for the Rangers. Maybe it's me, but I, personally, get the feeling that this was sort of their one big chance. I have a hard time seeing them returning to the finals.

Wooohoooo!!!

If the Wings don't win it, then I'm glad it's going to the Kings. What crazy playoff runs they've had in their two Cup wins.

Steamrolling everyone two years ago, then doing it the hard way this year.

Williams is a great story with his clutch play, but I think the Conn Smythe should've gone to Doughty. The guy was a beast this playoffs.

Doughty or Kopitar. But Williams is a good choice.

Glad Williams got the Conn Smythe, dude is captain clutch. Lundqvist just couldn't bail out the Rags anymore, feel for the guy.

If they weren't playing the Kings I definitely would've been pulling for Lundqvist to win it.

I know Williams is the feel good story, and Doughty would have been the "he's probably the best player in the world at his position" story, but Gaborik deserved the Conn Smythe. He was something else in these playoffs.

Well no more cups for la... 2 is enough

I have nothing against them and to be honest they could be on the verge of becoming a dynasty soon, the team has it all:

elite goaltending - check

elite defense - check

elite two way center - check

physicality, toughness and size - check

Lombardi has done an unbelievable job this team was destinated after beating the sharks being down 0:3

It's depressing we paid more for Legwand than Kings did for Gaborik.

That's because Dean Lombardi is well practiced and getting what he needs when it comes to trading.

Ken Holland maybe not so much.

You can't give the Conn Smythe to a trade deadline acquisition! That would just drive future prices through the roof! ;)

I can't imagine a better feeling in the world than to win that trophy. I get choked up every time those guys skate with it. That commercial "no words" is the epitome of that. Watching guys like Brett Hull, Chris Osgood, Darren McCarty, Mark Messier, Ray Bourque, Temu Selanne without words to say gets me every time. That's a hell of a mountain to climb and much respect to the kings right now. They took the hardest route there until they faced New York, and even then it wasn't easy. They were just too relentless to be denied. You have to have a kind of desire that can't be described and those boys showed it all post season. There is a fire there, and I saw it in the hawks last year and the Kings and Bruins before that. You have to really really dig deep and just by sheer will and determination over come your opponent because they want it just as bad. I think finesse and style go out the window in the playoffs. The game has to be played as a complete hard nosed grind and just rip the game away from the other team. Full speed and hard charging.

The wings need to get that back. I haven't seen them play like that other than in the first game against Boston. And it seemed like it tired them out. They need to get that grit and tenacity and stamina back. I hope the kids were watching. I hope holland was watching. Because those were men out there not kids. The "kids" aren't going to win a cup. Big physical hard nosed battle tested men win that cup. Holland needs to do his job like the rest of the team.

Martinez is a kid from Rochester Hills drafted in the 4th round by LA, by the way.

So you saying he is use to the eastern standard time, was getting tired, and just said "I had enough of this" as he wanted to go do bed and scored the goal? I am on board with that.

Congrats to the Kings; and it was a hard choice for the Conn; I am also a little shocked Doughty or Anze didn't get it, but Williams is right up there. Handful of players deserved of, could of went either way.

I feel bad for Henrik; man deserves a cup.

Chemistry on a team is far more important that skill of each individual player. The Kings have the chemistry. They won the cup as the 8th seed back in 2012, and then they win the cup again as the 6th seed this year. Further proving that seeding doesn't matter. Getting into the playoffs should be the main goal. After that, the chemistry, grit, determination, staying healthy, and a little luck is what it takes to win it. The Kings wouldn't have been here without all those things working in their favor. It really was an epic run by the Kings, and not any team could do that. Come back from a 3-0 deficit in the first round? Win 3 game 7s? They went 7-0 in elimination games too. Simply incredible!

I have so much respect for Henrik. Before this year, he was someone that I enjoyed watching. After this playoff run, I have a whole new level of respect and admiration for him. I really hope he gets another opportunity to make it to the finals.

Building? Built. This team is f***ing ridiculous. It's amazing what they've put together.

They aren't done. Wait till their kids get some seasons under them. The Kings will be better than this.

They could have picked Williams, Kopitar, Gabs, Doughty or Carter and not have picked wrong. It's simpley insane. But great fun to watch and be around.

Guys, I tried.

I just can't manage to give two rabbit farts when it's not us lifting the cup.

Best part of these playoffs for me was that neither the Pens nor the Hawks got to the big show, so there's that...

Edit: grammar *shakes head*

Well, that's basically what I was getting at. There's not much building and sowing left for them to do. They should be a perennial contender for years to come without making any big adjustments.

New York was lucky to get past Montreal.

It doesn't matter if it's East or West, he's a Stanley Cup Final loser on either coast.

And Michele Therrien is a genius?

I guess it speaks to how well the team was playing when you could really make a strong case for 4 players to win the Conn Smythe.
