Dabura 12,207 Report post Posted January 13, 2018 (edited) https://www.tsn.ca/dreger-report-examining-own-rentals-and-players-in-play-1.966418 The Detroit Red Wings are another team worth monitoring in the days and weeks ahead. The Wings remain competitive even though it would be best for the organization to flounder and sink into the mix of a top lottery contender. Mike Green is an obvious trade option in Detroit and there will be interest in the veteran, right-shot defenceman. Petr Mrazek is also widely known to be available. Based on his age, the 25-year-old goaltender might attract interest from clubs wanting depth at the position. Perhaps the most appealing among the options in Motown is talented winger Tomas Tatar. Tatar scored 25 goals for the Red Wings last season and has three more years remaining on his contract at $5.3 million per. The ask is believed to include a prospect and draft picks as Detroit continues to retool. With nine draft picks already in the bank, the Red Wings are aiming to add at least another two or three through trades. The team hopes to go into the NHL Draft in Dallas with a dozen picks or more. My concern is that Nyquist's play starts to decline before that and his value then goes down. Its a gamble for sure. 9 hours ago, e_prime said: I'm okay with either Nyquist or Tatar being traded... maybe even both. What do we think either of them would net us? I could see one being traded, but not both. I would like to see something like a 2nd, a legit prospect D to start and then go from there. Could end up multiple pieces going both ways. 1 Dabura reacted to this
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted January 14, 2018 Rumor: Jack Johnson is gonna get that trade he so badly wants. ...but it's going to be to a team he doesn't want to go to, isn't going to give him the ice time he wants, and will further expose him as the defenseman he has become resulting in a bad showing for his pending UFA status this offseason. I get it, dude. You need a nice contract to fix all your money woes. ...but your playoff bound team needs you even in the limited role you've got... and you wanna ask for a trade right now? ??? It depends on the return. If both of them bring in 2nd round picks or good prospects, that will be more valuable for the team by the time they're contenders than keeping them will be. If the return is just a mid round pick or two, or mid level prospects, you keep them. 2 kickazz and krsmith17 reacted to this
krsmith17 7,191 Report post Posted January 14, 2018 I'd much rather trade Tatar, but I think Nyquist would garner more in a trade. I'd be open to moving either or both, but only if it's for a good return. I'd trade Tatar for a 2nd, but I'd want a little more than that for Nyquist. Either a 1st, or 2nd, plus a solid prospect. LeftWinger 4,963 Report post Posted January 15, 2018 Didn't someone just say that the ask for Tatar was a pick and a prospect? I'd say that would be a nice return. I'll trade him to Vegas for a 3rd and Haugue. ...not giving up yet! Hee hee!

Not necessarily Hague, but a defenseman around that age (19-21), with that sort of upside. I don't think we'd get that much for Tatar though. I'd possibly do Tatar for *high end defense prospect* straight up though. 20 minutes ago, Juklitz said: I´ve heard rumor saying Howard is on to move to Islanders. Can't see Howard being dealt to the Islanders there's been strong suggestion that Garth Snow is after Robin Lehner. Though i would do something based around Howard and Nelson. Thanks for the source and translation, but I'm not sure if I see that trade happening. It doesn't really make much sense from either teams perspective in my opinion. Unless the Wings have all of a sudden decided to move on from Howard and go with Mrazek, because of one good game (shutout yesterday), but I highly doubt that's the case, since the article was published Saturday. Don't really want to hold on to Mrazek would rather keep Jimmy for another year teams not going anywhere any ways.
DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted January 15, 2018 Howard for Halak straight up doesn't make sense. If they can bring in Halak and a pick or prospect, that would be something to consider. At best Howard is going to be around 3 more years, they need a long term plan in net. As much as I question if Mrazek is that answer, giving him the majority of the starts the rest of this year is probably the smart move. If Mrazek craps the bed, they an try to re-sign Halak for next year and have an extra asset out of the bargain. 4 chaps80, marcaractac, nyqvististhefuture and 1 other reacted to this
