The LGW Suicide Prevention Line will be back to being quiet at least for a few days.

If someone can figure this team out let me know lol.

A nice thing about this organization is that the coach will not be scapegoated.

And he shouldn't be..if anything I think he's done a pretty good job with this ever revolving door of player, injuries and line combos.  Hard to build any chemistry.  Head above water..get healthy..make a run.

#2359473 Anyone ever used a 2-3 system before?

Posted by puckbags on 22 February 2013 - 02:15 PM

Has a team ever tried this?

Dump, Chase, have one D pinch while the other 2 slide.

Just getting a little sick of our "system" I guess. It doesnt seem to work without Lids.

This is an absolute gem haha..For all the things that I completely 100% disagree with that you say this makes up for it kinda.  Lemaire would be proud. Just bottle up the whole arena.

:lol: and Holland gave this guy a NTC....WTF!?!?

Yes because getting hit by a teammates slapshot in practice would clearly be a reason to question whether or not you give a guy a NTC back in the summer.

#2357253 Jonas Gustavsson recalled from GR, Mrazek sent back down

Posted by puckbags on 18 February 2013 - 12:17 PM

I wish I could get excited, but its only gonna be just as bad for Monster.  I believe that M-Raz is better than both Howie and Monster, but if you aren't going to address to crap defense, it doesn't matter who is in goal.  Good news that Monster is healthy, but I have a feeling its not gonna help the Wings....Welcome back Jonas! Pull that seatbelt one more notch and hold on!

What? The kid played one good game and is arguable the future of goaltending for this franchise but he was terrible yesterday..when Jimmy plays bad you blame Jimmy but when Mraz plays bad it's the d in front of him.  I know I know you drink your own blend of cool aid but Mraz belongs back in the minors for now.he will get his shot.

Spam ads for drugs on a forum for a team who has 57 guys injured..spammer and a troller lol

#2356449 Healthy starters the problem, Not young replacements

Posted by puckbags on 16 February 2013 - 05:30 PM

Oh god that's worse than our current team, without the injuries. What the hell kind of depth would that team have if Suter, Parise Datsyuk, or Zetterberg go down? Not to mention we'd have two rookie goalies, and only two penalty killers on the back end. Yikes.

Turn on Xbox>>> load up NHL 13 >>> Make 10 trades >>> Post lineup on LGW.  Seems about how he comes up with this stuff.  Is there still an ignore button on this site?

Im just preparing for Cleary, Howard, and Filppula to be re-signed for 2.5, 3.5, and 4.5 mil. Then we try and lowball Perry and say we dont have enough room to pay you what youre worth. You can bank on that happening.

Cleary I don't care about..Jimmy is worth 3.5 and Flip will be in the 3.75 - 4 mil range.Perfectly normal salaries for guys of their age and skill level.

These are my sentiments. Holland needed to go after Suter and Parise with an open checkbook. 9 mil per for both sound ridiculous? Well, we are almost paying 20 mil to a bunch of guys we get little return out of anyways.

Quincey = 3.7 mil
Bertuzzi = 1.75 mil
Sammy = 3 mil
Monster = 1.75 mil
Cleary = 2 mil
Tootoo = 1.8 mil
Colo = 2 mil
Huskins = .75 mil
White = 1.75 mil

Thats 18.5 mil.

Oh you screwed us, Axe. We are over the cap now.

This assumes we could play a sane Ken Holland from the Bertuzzi signing forward.

I trade Filppula, Kronwall, and Franzen for Cory Perry and sign Perry to 9 mil per.

Parise (9) - Dats (6.75) - Perry (9)
Zetterberg (6.25) - Helm (3) - Brunner (2)
Tartar (1) - Andersson (1) - Nyquist (1)
Sheahan (.75) - Emmerton (1) - Ferarro (.75)

Jarnkrok (.75) - Next GR guy (.75)

Suter (9) - Ericsson (3)
Smith (2) - Lashoff (1)
Sproul (.75) - Ouelette (.75)

Huskins (.75)

Mrazek (1)
McCollum (.75)

62 mil.

 This is like the 5th time I've explained this to you..Holland went at both of these guys with an open check book.  They were not going to come to Detroit..end of story..it has nothing to do with the money.  Get this through your head and quit posting these stupid lineups that involve Suter and Parise.

#2356202 2/15 GDT : Anaheim Ducks 5 at Red Wings 2

Looking at the replay of the game-winner, it's clear that Kronner had no idea where to pass that puck to.

Kronner needs to play the same kind of game he played when Lids was playing..right now he's trying to be Lids and make all these tight, cute passes and it's not his strong point.  He's been bad. End of story.  Tatar deserves to stay up when everyone is healthy.  I don't know what we are going to do with the bottom 6...there are going to be alot of guys fighting for 6 spots.  Nyquist can go back to GR..shown nothing..does he really want to be up here? We need to keep our heads above water until we get semi healthy.

#2355478 Babcock: Is he the right guy going forward?

Posted by puckbags on 14 February 2013 - 12:36 PM

I think a huge sign of a good coach is how you deal with roster turnover and injuries.  We haven't played two games in a row this year with the same lineup I don't think. Decimated by injuries and the loss of the best d man of the last 20 years.  We are 7-4-2.  I have never lost faith in Babs and I sure won't start now.

#2355332 Dan Cleary appreciation thread

Making a thread mocking Cleary is pretty s***ty though I must say.  I like everyone else agrees he is done but he has more than served this team well over the years.

I agree....sit Cleary and send Andersson back to GR and give a bone to Sheahan and Ferraro.

Andersson hasn't done anything terrible but he also hasn't done anything to stand out..throw a bone to someone else in GR and see what they have.  While we are missing an entire 5 man unit to injury now would be the time to try some different guys out.

#2354493 Biggest mistake Red Wings have done

Posted by puckbags on 12 February 2013 - 07:15 PM

biggest mistake the wings have done in my opinion is being way too loyal to the veterans and past players instead of letting the kids play , it really bugs the hell out of me that we signed samuelsson in the summer and now hes only played 2 games and is out yet again with a damn groin injury(pretty sure he always had that when he was here )

tatar is in his 4th season in grand rapids , nyquist should of started the season in the top 6 .... guys like  mursak,samuelsson,miller,bertuzzi they should all be gone

we cant expect to add in a bunch of rookies all in the same year , we have to gradually insert them into our lineup so they can learn from the veterans

I know tatar and andersson and probably lashoff will eventually all be back in the ahl but both tatar and lashoff as well as nyquist should be up

its time to get rid of the junk this team has and let the future get some games in

If these are what we are considering mistakes then I'm pretty sure I won't lose any sleep tonight over them.  Been a fan for 20 years and we have won 4 cups in that time and we are questioning the over protective loyalty of this franchise? Loyalty of any sort is almost impossible to find these days..maybe we need more of it?
