Just to let you guys know I am the reason Franzen played so well tonight. I was in the front row and was wearing my "FEED THE MULE" shirt and told my friend that Franzen was going to score two tonight. He did. Also here is me after Franzen scores:

    50 anonymous nhl players..

I heard The Team 1040 in Vancouver talking about the poll. They said Crosby was voted 2nd best player, Malkin and Zetterberg received the same amount of votes to tie for 3rd, and Joe Thornton and Datsyuk received the same amount to tie for 4rth.

    Re-alignment

**EDIT - UPDATED ON 5/20/11 to allow for Winnipeg** We've gone over this several times, but this time I did some geographic research, travel distances, etc... I'm in the mindset that all teams should travel equally and I would split it basically on a North East to South West type bend and then separate it back into Wales and Campbell Conferences and divisions (division names are just ideas and subjective) - Spread out original 6 teams, 3 per conference, equal West Coast teams split per conference - EVERYONE TRAVELS **DISCLAIMER** - Below are just suggestions and NOT the guts of the post, the real thought is into the re-alignment into an even travel schedule for all teams - take the suggested conferences for what they are. WALES CONFERENCE ADAMS DIVISION Edmonton Vancouver Calgary San Jose Colorado PATRICK DIVISION Minnesota Toronto New York Islanders Buffalo Chicago HOWE DIVISION Columbus Nashville St Louis Detroit Ottawa CAMPBELL CONFERENCE SMYTH DIVISION New York Rangers Philadelphia Washington Florida Tampa Bay NORRIS DIVISION Anaheim Los Angeles Phoenix Dallas Winnipeg ORR DIVISION Boston Pittsburgh Carolina Montreal New Jersey Everyone travels, all teams have ABOUT equal travel all the way around In Division games - 5 games a team = 20 games Out Of Division/In Conference - 3 games a team = 30 games Opposite Conference - 2 games(home and home) = 30 games 2 flex games against opposite conference, geographic relevance/rivalry games = 2 games 82 game schedule. I realize that some teams MAY get boned the most on travel IN division, but put it in perspective, only 10 games of these 20 against these teams will be on the road and it could be part of a west coast swing... also, all other teams in the division, essentially have to make the swing at least 5 times a season, plus the extra 2 or 3 for out of conference, so it comes very close to evening out... it still screws them less than the current schedule screws quite a FEW teams (Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota, Columbus, Nashville, etc...)

    Happy Anniversary

Crap.. I must be getting old. I was on spring break from college visiting my brother in Huntington Beach. My brother's roomate and I went snowboarding @ Big Bear that day and I made him go back early so that I could catch the game. He bitched the whole way back about leaving early just to watch the game (even though he's originally from Michigan and is Wings fan). Needless to say, he thanked me and said that it was the greatest game he had ever seen. And you haven't read "Blood Feud" then pick it up. It's a great read.

    Jonathan Ericsson Watch Thread

Ericsson used his stick to deflect Lidstrom's shot into the net... if you define that as a Lidstrom goal Holmstrom would have a total of 4 goals this year and Lidstrom would have two dozen.

Dude we scored 6 goals tonight. The point of having multiple lines that can score is not that you are going to have them all scoring at the same time so you win every game 10-0, it's so you can have one line picking up the slack when the other line isn't scoring. I'm sure you'll see games when both the 1st and 2nd line get a goal each, but right now they've been taking turns scoring in bunches. That's fine too. As long as we're winning and both lines are playing good (which they are).

    Jonathan Ericsson Watch Thread

Jonathan Ericsson: 1 SH goal (game winner) 1 assist +4 Multiple excellent defensive plays too. Hey doubters-- eat s***. What have I said all along? When he's confident in himself he's a very good young defenseman. When he's down on himself he sucks. Fine-- I can describe Filppula or most other Wings as s*** when they're not confident. But what happens when Big Rig is confident? He rocks the s*** out of the frigging rink. Edit: spelling

LOL. Your shtick backfired, you were completely wrong, and now you want to play the victim. AWESOME. We'll pretend the last few months *never* happened and you can feel better about your self. I'll send you some warm fuzzies!

So you meant "they were *playing* bad", not that they *are* bad? 'Cause that's exactly what you said. My point is you are a pessimistic person who seems to enjoy s***ting on the people who said to relax, wait until the injured players return and gel with their linemates. Damn shame. They were right, and you are still being a complete, childish dick. Don't stop though, it's just about all of your charm.

Ericsson made up for it, and howard is controlling rebounds, so that's a plus.

    Insight on top line

I think they should leave the top line as it would make no sense to break up the 2nd line atm. However it would be nice if they wcould change the pp units. I believe franzen should be playing in front of the net on the 2nd unit. Run ZDH first then franzen-flip-cleary/bert as a 2nd unit. I recall him scoring a bunch of goals on the pp and in front of the net in past years and am just not seeing it this year... maybe that would get him going. Starting to miss hudler as a legit playmaker on the 2nd unit.

    Buying NHL jerseys on eBay

This is a sports world wide problem with fake autographs on Ebay. I get mine in person or from a reputable dealer (Steinersports, Frozen Pond, Mrhockey.com, etc.). If I get it in person, I always get a photo of the player signing the item, usually with me in the pic. All I need is Slava Kozlov to sign a jersey and I have the complete set of Russian 5 autographed jerseys. Also, I have several Gordie signed items from in person meetings, but I ordered a pic and puck from his website and the guy is as classy through correspondence as he is in person. I ordered 2 items and received 5 in the mail, with thanks. By far the one of the most fan-loving guys out there. Also I ordered a pic from Tedlindsay.com. When I received it, it was rolled up and the Sharpie had transferred from the front to the back in spots. I wrote them and said that I still treasured the photo and would not return it for a replacement. I received in the mail a flat box with a new photo and an apology from Ted. Maybe it's just old school or hockey players in general. I like to think it's organizational, because I've always had great experience with the Wings. Even when they aren't Wings anymore. Fedorov was great to me and my son here in Columbus.

    Buying NHL jerseys on eBay

They're definitely knock offs. There was a whole thread that lead, ultimately, to a debate about them. I have 2 now (Zetterberg white, Hossa red) and love them both. It's really just a matter of scouring and lucking out when it comes to knock offs. Some are really passable, and some look like trash - though others will argue that they're all trash. If you can't justify dropping $200 on a Reebok EDGE sweater then I recommend going with a knock off. An 'authentic' from NHL.com or Dunham's isn't going to be much better. The major issue when it comes to Wings jerseys is the NOB, which is usually screwed up by those who make knock offs. NHL.com produces the right lettering, but on a poorly attached name plate - which the Wings obviously don't use. I've even toyed with the idea of buying a blank knock off and having the lettering sewn on by a company like SportsK, I'd bet no one would be the wiser. Then again, though, you're spending upwards of $100 which - for a broke college student like myself - would get me murdered by my girlfriend. Speaking as someone who did a lot of searching for the best quality knock-off I could find, you'll want to be leery of the jersey-on-the-blank-mannequin photos like the Ovechkin jersey in question. Often these images end up floating all around the internet and may not actually look anything like the jersey that specific seller might have. It's best to contact the seller in any situation where a cheap jersey is involved and request actual pictures of the jersey they're selling. If they're honest, they generally don't have a problem with them. So to conclude my novel, if you have any other questions just pm me.

    Fan Fight in the Stands

The only acceptable reason for doing that that I can think of is if either you or someone else was physically threatened, acting in self defense or of someone else. A couple of drunk idiots should be thrown out, no questions. Different situations.

    Pierre McGuire scares Rob Ray

Can't decide who is creepier, balder, or more biased: Pierre or Pang. I dislike them both, very much. Big fan of the Rob Ray of old, however. He was/is a cool dude.
