It doesn't matter how he is doing on another team. He sucked when he was here. Therefore, he is gone.

Wouldn't get too worked up about this. All a part of the negotiating process and it is still early.

I feel bad for Hossa. It's gonna suck when he loses a 3 straight Stanley Cup.

I'd rather overpay for a 1yr deal as opposed to a 3yr deal. Just remember the Draper deal how bad it looked, this would be worse.

and ONCE AGAIN(ugh) "carry their team on their back" does NOT MEAN DO IT ALL... Pavelski has been tearing it up for San Jose and Heatley and Boyle and PPG players... "carry a team on your back" means lift them, emotionally and physically with your play... it's not all about stats, and if he can't inspire them and score goals WHEN THEY MATTER, he is a choke... I don't even know how I have to keep explaining this to you, I really could not have made my point any clearer... UNTIL HE WINS THE BIG PRIZE, THE EARLY ROUNDS DO NOT MATTER

Whats the record in the NHL

Hossa made it to the finals 2 years ago with Pittsburgh, then last year with Detroit, now this year with Chicago. So, does that make him a good luck charm instead of a curse? Those 3 teams have all had better chances of getting the Cup when he was there compared to the other 28 who were kicked out. I don't know man, but my head is exploding.

    Homer Contract Disussion

I think homer could get 3 million per for 2 years if he wanted it, but he's going to have to leave town to do it. We're not going to be able to keep all these guys until they retire. Every year the game keeps getting faster and younger. Homer could easily take another step down again next season. His skating is already so bad, he's mostly a PP guy as it is. Holland is going to have to make some tough decisions. Both Homer and Bert want multi yr deals and both are over 35. He might only be able to get one. Another year being jammed up against the cap so we can't make any moves at the deadline. Holland must remember, this team isn't a cup winner or runner up. WE lost in the second round in 5 games. We need to improve not be stagnant.

Uggg I know. Same here. I can't believe there are Wings fans on here that say they want the Hawks to win. That's like saying you want the Avalanche to win.

homer was a huge part of the offense this past season and in previous seasons, and i think a 2-3 year deal for 5 mil wouldnt be too much.

Well that kinda sucks in a way. That means their marketing strategy has worked. And they'll keep doing it.

    Don't get me wrong,I love Homer,but if he's gonna get greedy when he's 37 and demands a raise in salary ALONG WITH a multi-year deal,see ya.goodbye.

    Homer Contract Disussion

I hope his agent is just being a dick, because we cant give out 2mil+ for multiple years to a 37 year old who can barely skate. I love Homer to death, but loyalty cant screw us again like it did with Draper. I just cant see Homer getting greedy given where the Wings are money wise and franchise wise, just cant see it.

I agree, as long as the money isn't too ridiculous. Maybe tell him that the Wings plan to keep him around as long as he is healthy and producing. With how he plays, there is a significant risk for plaguing injuries.

    Homer Contract Disussion

Love Homer but with his history of injuries and his age a multi-year deal is too risky.. unless like other mentioned he's willing to take less than 1m per year.

exactly, hit her right on the nose my friend. I feel this is something he'd be down for too, though im sure other teams will be calling him with better offers. To be honest I wouldnt even mind if he took it

TRUTH. I go to school in indiana and that's all i hear about, it's so annoying. But i think the flyers can do it. someone beat me to it and posted a lot of a talent that ppl overlook. philly is sound defensively, not just with defensemen but two way forwards. Mike richards is an animal in that department. I think too many ppl are just looking a big names, everyone needs to remember that this is hockey, not basketball, and any team can win on any night.
