You mean actual hockey fans who understand hockey as opposed to the people on Chicago's board who have watched hockey for 2 years and scoff at the notion that the salary cap will affect the team? Troll fail.

after the game, Marian Hossa was complaining about his shoulder hurting while raising the Cup, doctors later explained that when Kopecky got leveled, Hossa was the one to actually feel the hit and get hurt, doctors call it sympathy pains, because when spouses go everywhere together, can't go somewhere without another, they develop a bond that actually causes one to feel the others pain, damnedest thing...

I like the fact that Burrish was scratched for like the last 3 games in the series, yet he comes out all dressed up in "his hockey suit" like he was actually part of the win. What a tool bag. At least Pronger played.

From the HF Boards: "I love the people who post crap saying Burish can't say this because he isn't a "good enough hockey player" or whatever. Based on that logic we should just shut down HFBoards. Who here has the right to say bad things about anyone in the NHL? After all, they are better than we are, so therefore our opinions don't matter. If Adam Burish isn't allowed to comment on Chris Pronger because Pronger is an All-Star and Burish is a scrub, then we aren't allowed to comment on Adam Burish because he is in the NHL and we aren't. Talk about double standards."

Q: Say, Adam Burish, I see your team has just won the Stanley Cup. Where are you going next? A: Some other team next season!

Not a compliment. Our PK was outstanding this year, we don't need any improvement here; and for the record, I don't believe Burish is an upgrade over anyone we have on the PK right now. Yes, badly. A lot of guys can do that better than him. So he's not Aaron Downey. +1 for Burish, I guess. Decent enough for his career PPG to be 0.13. Congratulations. For the sake of the team, I hope not.

Well, that is easy to explain, this is basically another source of Hawks info because we here at LGW as well as our fans around the world, also known as The Red Wings Nation are the most Hockey knowledgeable fans in the world, so its no wonder you come here to learn stuff about your own team. You certainly aren't going to learn much about it hanging around the streets of Chicago and it's suburbs or talking with other "fans" like Jim Belushi and Vince Vaughn, who only show up to games when the team wins, where were they about 10 years ago? Same place you were I would imagine. But please, come, stay, pull up a chair, because next year when you are sans 5 of 6 of your important players, you will need to learn all you can here because odds are 3/4's of the fans that are celebrating right now wont even remember what icing is... Sure will be nice to see the like of Madden, Burish, Neimi, Ladd, Hjalmarsson & Eager amongst others playing somewhere else. Reports out of Toronto even suggesting Sharp and Versteeg may even be on the block, so you're gonna have a great team next season. But, hey, there's always the Bears, right? Hang in there, 50 years isn't that long to wait (again)

Let me get this straight... 1) I say the factual statement that Burish is a scrub compared to Pronger, and would most probably lose in a fight against him, despite Burris's bravado. 2) You call me out and accuse me of hypocrisy through means of sarcasm 3) I respond that if we can't critique players, there is no point to this forum, as we are doing exactly what you previously chastised. That's how I see it, if I'm somehow missing something please take the time to elaborate, instead of making another account as a sockpuppet to argue this fact. There is a reason why you have a resounding -6 on your post, without me even negging it.

    The Curse of Marian Hossa

You sure? 12 goals 14 assists in 08 isn't really a "no-show". And no Crosby didn't inflate his point total because, believe it or not, he's not the godsend everyone thinks he is. In 09 he was hurt(though most refuse to acknowledge it) and in 10 he put up some points in the Fianl. And even if he wasn't, as others have said before, he was making plays and providing a strong forecheck and backcheck.

I'm guessing this only made Pronger flash that annoying gap-toothed grin. I get that it's just a lighthearted quote from a guy who just won the Cup. Pronger doesn't fight much, but could still likely tune up Burish, who won't even be remembered in this league in 10 years. And as for the other discussion going on in this thread, to me there is a big difference between a hockey fan ripping on some player on an internet board, or even yelling it at a game, and a hockey player ripping on a fellow player while being interviewed on television. Without Pronger, the Flyers don't even make the playoffs, let alone the Cup finals. Without Burish, the Hawks... have a few less goals against?

LOL at a Hawks fan visiting a Red Wings forum the day after his team wins the Cup. Even when they win the Cup, they're more concerned with the Red Wings. Hawks fans are such a joke.

Back on topic, I laughed when I first saw the clip, but in retrospect, it was a pretty low thing for him to say. To Burish: You just won the Stanley Cup, beating the man you're being asked about. Show some respect and be a good winner. You don't have to like Pronger (I certainly don't), but a simple "no comment" with a chuckle would have gotten your point across. Not only did you just put a huge target on your back for the next time you play against Pronger, you also you showed a large lack of (wait for it) class by berating a defeated opponent. Not cool. Don't get me wrong. I'm not outraged or disgusted by this, and I'm sure he regrets saying it today once the euphoria of winning the Cup wore off some. I just don't think that's the way a professional should handle himself... But it sure was funny.

You sure seem to be making it one. I'm sorry for giving my opinion about a subject, I thought that's what this board was for. Also, I don't really think you truly understand the definition of Irony, as I never insinuated Burish is a scrub in comparison to me, but rather, a scrub in comparison to the vast majority of the league. I guess I'm not allowed to say Lebda sucks either?
  19. 2 points
Do you see me calling players with far better hockey sense than me "the biggest idiot in the league" or talking s*** like I can beat someone up who I clearly can't? No? Then learn to take things in context. In comparison to Pronger, Burrish is a scrub player, and we all know that he would never challenge Pronger unless in the heat of adrenaline.

I love it when no name scrubs take shots at potential HOFers just because their team won. "I Might punch him" lol give me a break, Burrish would get wrecked.

Byfuglien was better than Toews during the entire run.

    1) Versus and NBC will run more ads featuring Crosby lifting the Cup than Toews, sparking infinite anti-Crosby threads, and Carman's post count will triple as a result. 2) If we stay healthy, we have a realistic shot at winning the division, especially with the depth that Chicago is likely to lose due to their cap situation. 3) Tampa Bay will make the playoffs and upset a division winner in the first round. 4) Toronto will make the playoffs (that's right, I said it). 5) Either Crosby or Ovechkin will be injured and unable to play in the outdoor game, ruining Uncle Gary's grand scheme. 6) Canada will have to wait yet another year for a Cup winner. 7) Very few people will be happy about Holland's free agent moves. 8) One of this season's division winners in the West will finish out of the playoffs.

    Fire sale in Chicago?

There's no cap in the AHL. If Huet is waived, he won't count against the cap. But he can't be taken off their cap until the end of training camp. Also, Jonathan Toews gets a $1.3 million bonus for winning the Conn Smythe. Because it wouldn't fit on Chicago's cap from this past season, it carries over to the 2010/11 season.

Can the Red Wings steal away Patrick Sharp? Pleeeeease? You want a replacement and upgrade over Sammy, there you have it.
