michael keaton is dead to me!

We're concerned that Ken is a Pens fan? Really? Is this the Ken that hangs our with Barbie? That Ken? I'll let you guys in on a secret. I've seen him naked. Nothing hangs on him, if you get my drift. He probably saw the Pens and thought it said Penis and is rooting for them to overcompensate for feelings of personal inadequacy. It's not like it's Stretch Armstrong we're talking about here, folks. We don't need Ken. We have Murph. Same hair; we can assume better anatomy.

Smart by Cleary to pull his hands in. Removed any doubt that he willingly knocked it in. You could tell he knew it was coming right for him though. Kinda a dirty goal, but those are the goals that win championships.

Big E's problem was not getting it deep, but he's not the sole reason they scored, we had numbers back once the puck ended up behind our net. They scored because the Sedins are really good and are our version of Datsyuk and Zata.

Sounds like one of Chicago's prospects got dinged up good in his NHL debut. Morin hurt slightly in the second and now more severely in the third. Is it wrong to gloat?

    An Unlikely Scrap

Crosby didn't take him down in the corner, he fell down on him. Criticism isn't necessarily blind hate if you give reasons. I'm just pointing out the obvious (guys like you need it) that it's cheap as hell to give a little mini crosscheck at the bench where there is no chance of being taken to task for it. Everybody including Crosby knew he wanted no part of Getzlaf. The fact that this non-event is headline news shows the blind love for Crosby--oooooh Sid got into a fight now he's a real badass--well not with real tough guys, he isn't. Why would I be jealous of Crosby when I have the best all around player in the world on my team in Pavel Datsyuk.

Hudler is Lazy and he sucks

Umm.. For much of last season, Leino recieved top 6 minutes, playing with the likes of Datsyuk, Z, Fil, and Bert. I'm still baffled everyone is calling for a trade. Do any of you understand how a trade works? What exactly would we get in return for him? Another Toleffson? No thanks. Its 11 games in and we have one of the best records in the NHL. Some of you just NEED something to whine about. Hudler will be fine.

Hudler dosen't fit on this team right now. He is too small to go into the corners and dig the puck out, he gets pushed around in front of the net, and who do you make sit for him? He is a good player without question, but do you want that big of cap hit watching the games? I say see what is available for him and decide from there.

Wow. The most painful part of that video was watching Perron embellish the hit by laying on the ice for whatever amount of time like a *****. Seriously? The hit was clean, like someone has said, what is he (Thornton) supposed to do, let him skate by with the puck? Clearly by the video yes it is mostly his arm that makes contact. But his arm does not equal his elbow, and if Perron had his head up instead of looking back at the passer, this hit would not even be an issue. Bettman and the other fairy f***s who are used to commissioning / administrating basketball are seriously putting a bad name to the game. Just let 'em play! I could see maybe a 2 minute minor fairness-wise for the hit. MAYBE. That Thornton got suspended for this is totally f***ed, as much as I dislike Thornton. Would we want this to happen to one of our guys, God forbid he actually make contact with someone who doesn't have their head up and is off in la-la land while the puck is coming their way?

I'm not worried about this back-to-back like some others are. Not that far of travel plus they gain an hour. I guess that's the good thing about East-to-West road trips. Hopefully Jimmy gets his 23rd straight regulation win and come out of this road trip rewarded with a nice, long string of home games.

We had a large contingent of Wings fans from here that got a group rate to see the Wings in Florida two years ago. I've been in touch with the Panthers' ticket office this season and we'll be getting another discount for the game in February this season. I'll be posting something up soon.

Trying to say that Canadian stars are sore losers?
  23. 1 point
Melodramatic much? It's blindside and it's an elbow to the head. Plus Perron didn't have the puck. 3 strikes and you're out.

So other than the fact that Thornton plugs Perron with a blindside elbow to the jaw, and Pietrangelo doesn't toss his bucket, what exactly is in that clip? Certainly nothing about hitting no longer being in hockey.

    Class Act Organization

I've been casually viewing this site for awhile but until today I never felt the need to share my opinion. Today, however, was different. My brother was diagnosed with leukemia while playing junior hockey in Saskatchewan earlier this year and he had a bone marrow transplant a couple months ago in Calgary (he's had to live there for the last several months due to the lack of facilities in Sask.). We have been die-hard Red Wings fans since we were really young and it's been a dream of ours to someday watch a game at the Joe but today he experienced the next best thing. Mike Babcock gave him a call this morning and invited him to the Wings practice in Calgary and invited him to meet all of the Wings. Every single Red Wing took the time to not only introduce themselves but genuinely get to know him. He was encouraged by Dats and Zets to stick around for practice prep and to come back after practice for some autographs. Ken Holland offered him tickets for tomorrow's game and Babs invited him back tomorrow to once again hang out with the Wings after their morning skate. For a kid who's been through a lot in recent months, he was on cloud nine today. The Wings have always been my favorite team but today they turned it up a notch. I was absolutely blown away by everything today and I think it's safe to say we all cheer for one of the classiest organizations in the NHL .
