Well said about the Ozzie-Howard thing. I don't know how you can really not really like both of these guys. I think Howard's got a ton of potential and I really hope he is the goalie of the future and successful at that. But that said, I think Osgood needs to be starting more and I think they need to get back to developing Howard instead of trying to force him into a starting role that he wasn't quite ready for yet. It's absolutely no knock on him as a goalie. We're really, really, really lucky to have a couple guys that aren't head cases, who are humble and team guys that seem to love playing here. It's a great situation. I just hope Babcock doesn't drive Jimmy into the ground this year. That's why I want to see a shift back to a real rotation and Osgood starting in the playoffs for Jimmy to observe so he can really be ready in 1-2 years. Patience is cool. It's why Osgood has got a lot of Cups and 400 wins. Jimmy's too talented and too good of a guy to waste by burning him out early.

Replay just showed the help on that save. That was closer than Pierre Maguire and Ed Olczyk get to Crosby during their threesomes.

i didn't see it, but i'm guessing he started sentences, paused for an uncomfortable amount of time, and then resumed the sentence which then blended into another sentence. all with irregular intonation.

Maybe you missed him because he's so small and lackedazical out there, but Hudler actually just failed miserably to cover his man while Osgood was playing the shooter. Every goalie's going to get burned more often than not on a fast one timer from point blank because a guy was left wide open. It's real hard to hold crap plays like that against a goalie.

    Retire Osgood's #30?

So, using that theory, lets not give any of the 9 goalies ahead of Osgood ANY credit. Especially those Broduer and Roy characters, just look at the teams they played for, hell, my Gramma could've won in Colorado or New Jersey... Pfft, 600 wins, Marty is average, put him on Florida his whole career and he doesn't have 200 wins... strange, since Yzerman never won the Hart or Richard award,I guess he was never the best center in the game, ever. Hell, without his teammates he doesn't have 1063 assists without his teammates. Brett Hull was average until Adam Oates played with him, I guess Hull doesn't deserve his HOF induction or number retired.

Oh come on, the kid is raping the league right now. He is far and away the best player offensively this year. Give credit where credit is due.

Ah. You mean THE "OSGOOD" who was the goalie for the Detroit Red Wings' Stanley Cup win that year?

If Hitler played for the Pens, he'd have been voted in as well. The fan voting is a joke, and always seems to rotate from team to team. Many years ago, Sharks fans stacked the ballot. Then it was the Canucks one year. Then Montreal a few years back, and now Pittsburgh. Seems like every year some team's fans stack the ballots, but it's never the same team every year. Conspiracy anyone?

Pretty impressive to see all five Wings skaters on the goalline though. Surprised the defenseman could get 3 feet from the goaltender like that in the NHL. Lucky for him Osgood was out of position

I think I can simplify this. Just continuously drink until Keating stops talking.

Meh, a point-per-game pace by a defensesman is just as impressive as winning 8 of 10 games for a goalie. Either of them could have been 2nd star.

I've been away a few days, this was the first time I got a chance to watch Tatar's goal celebration. My question is, what's the big deal? I have no problem with it! It's the first goal of his career, he should be excited! Good for him, I hope it's the first of many!

Except for Miller, I hope the Wings never break the bank on an "elite" goalie. They are simply too unpredictable. I like the way they do things, finding two capable goalies. I just wish Ozzie would get more starts, just because we need to have both these guys ready at a moment's notice.
