I am not starting another thread about the fine and possible jail time for a fan who participated in Octopus throwing. I am starting a thread for anyone who actually wants to start protesting the NHL's many aggressive faults. Bad calls and attacks on Detroit tradition chief amongst them. I want to call on people with more modern skills than I have. We need websites, Facebook campaigns, mail in campaigns, call in campaigns, twitter, real Egyptian type protests. As I mentioned in the other thread discussing Octogate 2011: I'm working on some new designs for the LGW Shop that are more octopus-focused. I've had one design, the "Don't Tread on Me" Octopus t-shirt around for a few months now, but with recent events I've put together a few designs tonight that I'd like feedback on: Of note: Al Sobotka's photos are VERY hard to get the Che Guevara, but it is what it is . the "vidare till seger" is the Swedish translation of "hasta la victoria siempre" ("onward to victory" -- all via Google Translate). If some of our Swedish members has a more effective translation I'm all about fixing it. As it stands these are all up for review and should (hopefully) be available to purchase within the next day or two (kind of iffy being the weekend and all). If any of you have any ideas or suggestions -- or requsts for what item of clothing you'd like to purchase it on if it was available -- I'm all ears!

I was thinking something like this, maybe plush toys that are given out on the door, that way they can all be thrown (and if a player complains about almost being hit by a soft toy, well... no need to say how fans will take his woosy-ness). What's more they can all be collected again and maybe sold off, say if players signed them for charity? AH SCREW IT! I'm writing a letter to whoever necessary at the Red Wings organisation! Would probably be difficult to get hold of top management wont it? Either that or get Mike Ilitch to run down to the glass and throw one himself. Then lets see security throw him out. No chance in hell.

But one time where 30 or whatever fly over the boards would be epic. It would be a huge FU to the league and Bettman and if it got me kicked out then whatever. I love this team enough that in 10 years if the tradition still exists because of something like that, then who cares? Just once would be a good protest and then the rest of the time only throw 2 or 3 like usual. Besides, it's their fault! Leave our traditions alone and you won't get a boat load of cephalopod in your face.
