    Zetterberg's first NHL goal

The most amazing thing about that video is pb the scroll at the bottom says Joey Harrington threw for 309 yds and 2 tds. I honestly think I remember that game cuz he didn't have many like that.

Agreed. I hate the Hawks but their logo is classic. Cool colors in it and a lot of detail. The Wings logo is just so sleek and classy, though.

The Blackhawk Indian has balls drooping down the side of his hair. That alone should put the Winged Wheel ahead. Also, now you'll never not see them.

Carolina's "rose" logo looks like s***. Anaheim's is ever worse, because they don't even have a real logo.

That's because these guys are rich, spoiled athletes. In the days of the Red Army hockey teams, those players lived in apartments and got paid as much money as you and I. They also trained 12 months a year. Those guys didn't have this lazy, white collar attitude that the Russian hockey players have nowadays when they come over to the US. That's guaranteed millions for you and a chance to live in America. So your statement wasn't entirely fair. Kovalev is the stereotypical, "modern day" Russian hockey player.

Then don't pay him top dollar. You know what you're getting, that doesn't make him an ass, it makes the GM an idiot.

I'm gonna toss in the Blues logo as one of the best. Maybe I'm biased, but I think it's an excellent logo. A few years ago, another site did an 8-week long bracketed voting contest for the best logo in the NHL. Montreal won...Blues finished 2nd. http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/2007/10/result-canadiens-vs-blues.html (images aren't showing now though) Anyway... Montreal St. Louis Detroit Chicago Toronto (the modernized version) Boston Edmonton Calgary New Jersey Philadelphia Tampa Bay (new one) ...all very good logos.

    Brett Lebda traded to Nashville

When one of your scorers takes you to arbitration, thus delaying you for a month, during which time all of the good free-agent forwards are signed, and then bolts for Russia, what do you do? You sign the guys who are still available. Williams was one of the few, and he had scored 20 goals in the prior season. Nice try.

Some people actually like the Preds logo, but personally I think its pretty laughable. Its like some awful Saturday morning cartoon.

Kovalev is pretty much a stereotypical Russian hockey player, tons of talent zero heart.

Williams' 58 point season was his highest point total season in that span, but he scored 36 in 43 for Chicago in 2007-08 - pace for close to 70 points on a full healthy season, and 47 in 80 games between Atlanta and Columbus (29 in 39 in Columbus) in 2008-09. So Williams' offensive output was pretty consistent as a 50+ point player, aside from his 2006-07 season when he scored a measly 32 points. As for the "Eva math" comment; that 20-31-51 is his total output from 2005-06 through 2008-09, averaged down to 82 games. It's not the "let's project 11 games to 82" that I am often criticized for.

I know what you're saying, but I would also argue that the better team is usually the one getting these "lucky breaks" or at the very least they're less affected by bad bounces. Also, a lot of times a team can look like they're not getting a break because they're getting soundly outplayed.

    Kovalev complains in Russian media

He's an ass of the same type as Zherdev. He gets paid top-dollar to play a professional sport, but doesn't give it his all and frequently complains for no good reason. It doesn't chime well with those of us who actually need to work hard to make a living.

Jason Williams scored over 50 points once in his 10 year NHL career. I can't believe I even have to say this, but that does not make him a consistent 50+ point player, no matter what kind of fuzzy math you use. In the real world, playing real hockey, he cracked 50 points in a season one time. And averaging his career output since 2006 down to 82 games makes as little sense as projecting 11 games to 82. It in no way is any indication of the kind of goalscorer he was.

Not that it's a big deal. But it's always been sort of annoying to see so many ppl misspell this guy's name. I swear I see more "Federov"s than I do "Fedorov"s. And im not talking from random ppl. I'm talking about "Red Wings fans." The guy played here for 13 years and won 3 Stanley Cups and half of us can't even spell the guys name?? Come onnn maaaaaaannnn. lol Must be a bunch of noob Wings fans that started watching in 2008.

    Kovalev complains in Russian media

interesting so that means Datsyuk, Ovechkin, Malkin, Gonchar, Bryzgalov all fall into that "modern day" criteria? WHo are you DOn Cherry? What about Mogilny, Fedorov, Zubov, Bure who technically played at the same time when Kovalev won a cup with the Rangers? this is such BS... Do Red Wings fans question Pavel Datsyuk's heart? If a north american player is streaky you call him steaky, but if a Russian player is like that you call him lazy and say he has no heart ... this is dumb

I don't need to be careful with anything I stated. Stereotypes exist for a reason and there is damn good evidence why Russian players have gotten that reputation. Datsyuk is not a stereotypical Russian player but Kovalev is. Their national team speaks volumes on this subject alone.
