K guys you are missing the point in this article. For one, he isn't talking about our fanbase..... People hate the Bruins because they play thug hockey. People hate the Rangers because of Tortorella and players "shooting" goalies after a goal. People hate the Canucks because they are divers/crybabies. People hate the Sharks because of players like Thornton (playoff cheap shot master) and Pavelski (diver). People hate Chicago because they have guys like Kane who will score a goal and race out to center ice with a celebration. People hate the Wings because.....they win? When our guys score they act like they've done it before. They don't play goon hockey. They don't complain in the media. They don't dish out cheap shots. And to that Blues fan, other than not being able to get over the "Red Wings hump", the only incidents you could be referring to are the Chris Pronger days.

Gotta find a way to sniff out two points in this one. This could be a potential playoff match up for the first time in ten years, which is awkward considering how good both these teams were for the past decade. Datsyuk and Flip will give it their best as usual, if Franzen and Z could do the same, we will win this one. Since I live near the Vancouver area, we have to sit through those douches on Sportsnet Pacific talking trash about other teams and sucking up to the Sedin sisters. One particular idiot said Datsyuk didn't even belong as a top 5 ASG draft pick, but ******* Stamkos does.

I can name quite a few fanbases, including plenty of names, that do hate us. They all just mad that we got all da Cups

I love Howard and what he has done this season but... I think this is the year Lundqvist finally wins the vezina and rightfully so. After watching the Buffalo - Rangers game tonight I'm still in ave of his performance. His second shutout in two games and his sixth shutout this season. Lundqvist currently rank: #2 in GAA 1.82 (Elliot #1) #1 in SV% .939 #1 (tied with Quick) in shutouts with 6. He is having an amazing season, his best of his career i think. I love to watch him play and I would like to see him win this season. From tonights game; Who do you think will win vezina trophy this year? Would you like to see Lundqvist win it? Is it possible for Howard to take home the trophy? Vezina candidates: Lundqvist, Howard, Quick, Rinne (Thomas?) (Eliott?) I know the season is not over yet but lets hear your thoughts!

Well, I know for a fact a bunch of current and former Blues players can't stand the Red Wings. I assume it's the same in many other cities. But that's nothing compared to the various fanbases that hate the Red Wings. The hatred has nothing (or at least very little) to do with the number of cups the Wings have won...at least as far as I am concerned. For me, it is a combination of certain players I don't like, incidents that have happened in the past (reg. season and playoffs), and past inabilities to get past Detroit in the playoffs, finishing behind them in the standings, etc. I hate the Canucks...can't stand 'em...do they have any cups? Nope. I can't stand the Sharks either... no cups. I actually enjoy the Penguins...and they have a handful of cups. No hatred there from me. I don't dislike the Canadiens...kind of impartial to them really, and they seemingly have 14,000 cups. The number of cups a team has, has little to do with whether I hate them or not. It's really all about particular players, specific incidents, etc.

For some reason I assume everyone is in their late 20's early 30's and looks like their avatar. Uh thanks, I think...wait a minute "finally" implies anticipation...

We've definitely seen a significant difference at times when it comes to losses but I'm not sure it's that big. I feel like what really makes a difference is the opponent and whether or not the Wings struggle through some ups and downs.

Contract Florida, Nashville and Columbus from the league Move Winnipeg to Quebec and move Phoenix back to Winnipeg. Somehow, it'd be more fitting. Ban goalies from getting into a butterfly stance. Get rid of the instigator. Bring back pure goons who can't play hockey. Give the original 6 teams an automatic playoff spot. Bring back the jerseys from the early 90's. Get rid of the new Reebok s*** and the stupid stripes. Have home teams wear white again. Each team will play a home and home against each team.

Lidstrom will. Datsyuk has a good chance. Fedorov one day will. There are numbers in te rafters at the Joe that belonged to players who left on much worst terms than Fedorov. He was the single biggest contributer (Bowman excluded) to 3 cups, one of which ended a gnarly drought. Add a billion awards NHL wide and internationally as well.

Give the guy a break. He got a puck shot into his face. Not much you can do about that one. Even if he has had injury problems before hand, he hasn't been that injury prone while with the Wings besides for maybe a 10 game groin injury it has been all minor.

I really don't get why people are even considering to trade Flip. He can/will be just better, year after year. Couple of years ago everybody wanted to trade Dats for either Luongo or Thornton... and now?
