That's cool..... This just in.....Ryan Suter and Zach Parise are wooed by KHL team, but entire family unwilling to move to Russia...ubilical cord wont reach that far so they decide to sit it out close to family...

I think we're going to lose it anyway. Might as well get something in return for it.

you are right in that the owners are demanding salary rollbacks. but the players are demanding that there be no salary rollbacks and refuse to negotiate economic issues until that demand is met. You can argue who's demands are more reasonable but to say that the players aren't demanding anything is false imo. the fact is both sides have demands that right now aren't being met by either side and is why we are at a stalemate with these economic issues

Exactly. Couldn't agree more. I think this season is gone, may as well get the lockout fanatic removed as some consolation.

You got it all wrong. The players aren't making any demands, it is Bettman and the owners making demands counting on the players to capitulate

I'd honestly take Crosby over Valverde. And it's the only time I'll ever support a Crosby.

I will have a hearty laugh when Bettman finally retires, and Gretzky or someone else that everyone is sure is the savior of the game, comes in and picks up right where Bettman left off. The butthurt will be enough to fill oceans.

There's really no getting around that three lockouts in a row, one (and maybe more) costing the entire season is terrible league management. As others have said, there's a fair chance we'll lose this season. Might as well make it worth it.

Oh at first I thought it said sacrifice Bettman to save the season

    Jordin Tootoo & Polar Bears

Did not say this earlier because this looks like the op is just bitter about Nashville beating us. But since it has made it to page two, 25,000 polar bears vs 50,000 Inuits If only the "civilized" world had sanctions in place to protect the people who lived here before we came and took their lands. Seriously, the only reason our country is in a place where they can look down on people because of what they eat, is because they had no morals or conscience when it came to slaughtering and enslaving people they perceived as inferior. Try to remember that these are human beings like you and I and that their society has been around for over a thousand years, they have always been an arctic, maritime people. Polar bear meat is one of the reasons they survived to today and I don't think anyone has the right to tell them they are wrong for it, they did not overfarm bears in 1000 years and polar bears did not get to their endangered status from natives, but from the same expansion that endangered the natives.

I know it's hard to believe that he can have so much power over a sport that he is the most despised person by the fans (those who provide the revenues that are fighting over) of that sport.

I had read it in a few places years ago but here's the most recent reminder. http://www.nytimes.c...l-enforcer.html Everything I've read credits Bettman for the change but ultimately I think the Board of governors has to approve it. I haven't found much info about how that process works exactly. And here: http://www.theglobea..._medium=twitter The part I bolded is especially depressing.

As I said yesterday, I think Fehr's been brought in by the PA and 22 owners to take Bettman out... That little turd has gotten to powerful! I don't care how long this lockout lasts, I want Bettman gone!! With the amount of money 1/3 of the teams are losing, there's no way all 30 owners wanted a lockout!
