LGW, where PK Subban isn't worth 3.5 mil, but Kyle Quincey already makes more than that. LOL.

The Hossa boat sailed a long time ago guys, no point swimming after it. Holland said all season long he could only sign one of Franzen or Hossa, and Franzen got in there first.

That was Burkie....this is reality lol. Yep, save for the attitude problems (maybe thats just Montreal and how players are rockstars there...?), he looks like a good one. He could be a great Wing for years to come. Seems like a no-brainer.

    Everyone chill out!

I don't know why everyone expects this team not to be in the postseason or close to it. They still have the weapons when healthy to be a #6 seed

A Fan's Take On The NHL Apology

It's not mine, but I wish I could take credit for it. Just Drop It on Facebook shared this fan's letter: By Tangotiger Terrible apology. First, they never say “I’m sorry”. In order to express remorse, you MUST say “I’m sorry”. If you say “I apologize”, you simply acknowledge a wrong, but without expressing remorse. Secondly, even if you want to accept “apologize”, they don’t even mention their culpability. They say “for the time we’ve missed”. That’s like coming home late for dinner because of bad traffic. Like, it couldn’t be helped. “I apologize for being late, as the traffic was terrible.” That’s what the NHL just said. But, the NHL is the one that caused the accident! They locked out the players. They can’t even acknowledge it. They’re hoping by not saying it, people will forget about who to blame! Even some of their NHL.com “reporters” go out of their way to not say “lockout”. Anyway, after that complete opening fail, they want to earn your trust by… having someone else play their hearts out for you! The players were willing to play with an expired CBA. They were always ready to play their hearts out. So, the NHL caused an accident, made you late for dinner, and is going to get their mechanic to work extra hard on your car, and even though the mechanic was going to do that anyway. And for this, they expect absolution. Does the NHL offer you free NHL Center Ice? No, of course not, because their “partners” wouldn’t allow it. Some of their partners (Comcast, Cablevision) happen to own the Flyers and Rangers. And I think inDemand is owned by Comcast. Anyway, I understand that Cablevision still wants their 49$ cut out of the 99$ they’d otherwise charge for a 48-game season. But, why is the fan paying that 49$? Why can’t the NHL give the fans a rebate on that? So, you pay the 49$ to Cablevision, and then you fill out the rebate form at NHL.com, and the NHL gives you back 49 NHL bucks, which you can apply to tickets, concessions, or merchandise. Instead, Bettman goes on the radio and now makes his partners complicit in the idea that the fans can’t get a free NHL Center Ice package. Finally, they end their apology letter by asking us to forget everything and focus on the players. This is like Congress blocking aid to Sandy for two months while eventually agreeing to the proposal all along. It was a ridiculous wait. The only apology I’d like to see is Bettman/Daly’s performance in early December following Fehr’s pronouncement that they had agreement on the dollars, and were right on top of each other everywhere else, while they were talking about hills to die on and comparing Fehr’s statements to being a billion dollar apart the last time. The deal they eventually agreed to was pretty much what Fehr was talking about in December. It was five weeks lost, for no other reason than whatever motivates Congress: talk loud and hope no one notices that you are saying nothing. And if someone from the NHL happens to read this: if you have taken offense to what I just said, then I apologize. Dinner will be waiting.

Stop telling other people how to feel or that they have no right to be angry. No one died and made you the arbiter of etiquette. Go ahead and lay down for the NHL - no one has told you what to do, yet you feel entitled to tell others. Don't think that just because you feel a certain way, no one has the right to feel differently. I and others who are still "butthurt" can spend our money in any way we see fit, and we choose not to give it to something that slaps us in the face. You are welcome to say thank you, sir, may I please have another, but others are going to make their displeasure known. Get over it.

Subban wants Drew Doughty money. http://www.cbssports.com/nhl/blog/eye-on-hockey/21527208/nhl-rumors-pk-subban-looking-for-doughty-money-in-new-deal That being said, would you sign Subban long term for $6 million a season? This is going to be the Albatross that hangs over any NHL team that wants to trade for him. If Subban wants the same thing from his next NHL team, will they give it to him? Personally, I think Subban is not worth $6 million a season and a 6-7 year contract. Thats just too darn much.

I agree Helm is much more valuable that Abdelkader, but I think Abdelkaders age makes him the most attractive out of the "expendable" bunch. I'd love to have Wayne Simmonds...

Abdelkader, unlike Helm, is expendable. This team really seems to struggle when Helm isn't around.

No Emmerton! Yay! Anyway, I'd prefer to see Eaves play with Miller and Helm and have Cleary play on the 4th line instead.

I like that first line. If i remember correctly Bert and Dats had some awesome chemistry last season. I was really worried that they were ganna demote Bertuzzi to a 3rd line role, but with the lack of top 6 talent on the team he'd have to be up there so I'm pretty excited for tomorrows game...well minus the whole no defense thing...

    Everyone chill out!

I was doing a little research and looking back at the last lockout shortened season. Everyone keeps saying how important is it to "get off to a good start or it'll be over before you know it". While it never hurts to get off to a good start, I'm much more interested in how things end. In 1995, the NJ Devils started off 0-3-1, were below .500 for about half the season, finished a little over .500 and made the playoffs. In May and June they went 16-4 and won the Stanley Cup. If you like to be pessimistic, then by all means, keep whining about the slow start, but how well they're playing in January means nothing, even in a short season, and there's the proof.

    Tomas Holmstrom Retires

My favorite has to be the first goal he scored in the 6-0 whitewash of Colorado back in the day. I just saw this video of the puck drop last night. Did he hand the puck to the guy on the Dallas bench? Its near the end.

His problem isn't that he doesn't fight. His problem is that he is lazy, soft, lazy, doesn't use his size, lazy, doesn't skate, lazy, doesn't use his stickhandling ability, lazy, takes soft wrist shots from the perimeter, lazy, is signed for another 8 years, and last but not least, lazy. Fighting doesn't even come into it. Homer never fought, but he was the best net-front player in the last 20 years.

And because of that abuse he had to take, he never missed an opportunity to lay a big hit on one of those d-men. Loved that guy. esteef

You are basing this on one playoff run, from this past season. Yes, he was phenomenal, but have you seen his stats the previous playoff runs that LA has had? 2010/11 : 2 Wins 4 Losses 3.16 GAA .913 SV% 2009/10 : 2 Wins 4 Losses 3.50 GAA .884 SV% I am not saying Quick isn't a solid goaltender, he is, but to say Howard cannot play as well as Quick had this past post-season is a tad ridiculous. Before Howard was injured in the reg season, he was on track to be, at least, a Vezina nominee.... I don't think we've seen the true measure of how well Howard can play in the post-season yet, just as prior to this season, the same could have been said for Quick.
