    More Restrooms for the Joe

They figured people will need it the way Quincey and Cleary are playing.

    Zetterberg's Great But...

I'm sorry, I must have missed it; I thought for sure this was a thread about Zetterberg. If you want to discuss anyone else at length, please start a thread about it.

Calle Jarnkrok. Currently ranked as our 5th best prospect by Hockey's Future (behind Smith, Nyquist, Tatar and Jurco). Born in '91, so 21, and old enough to be considered at this point. He's spent the last two complete seasons in the Swedish Elite League, which is at least somewhat comprable to AHL-level hockey. He's said to be a great play-making center, with outstanding speed (aka defensive ability). And, most impressively, IMO, he was chosen for the Swedish WC team over Gustav Nyquist...who we all know deserves to be on the team next season. What are the chances this guy comes over and becomes our third line center next season (moving Helm to a more appropriate fourth line role)? And while we're at it, what about Tomas Tatar, who will be playing with Marian Hossa and many other high profile NHL-ers on Slovakia's WC team? I smell a (potential) great third scoring line in Nyquist-Jarnkrok-Tatar as early as next season.

    Yandle on the trade block

I don't see any trades with Phoenix until this ownership mess is cleared up. Quebec will want to have some players when the team relocates

    Emmerton

Nope, I said it. I stick by it too. Emmerton is trash, we have enough trash. Get rid of Emmerton, Cleary, Quincey, Kindl, and Mursak, for starters

Cleary's two best seasons were 46, and 42 points. 33 points was a decent season for him, even with the knee. Selanne has hit 100+ points 3 times, is over a ppg for his career, and he got 40 goals and 90 points after his 32 point season. Like I said they are not comparable.

    2/3 around the NHL

More Crosby knob slobbing by Pierre and Eddie O in the Caps/Pens game (what's new). Crosby flops while trying to score, doesn't get the call (and rightly so), and the crew goes on to bring up Elias from the game before saying Crosby embellishes all the time. They try to defend the golden child (of course) by showing the replay where he clearly dives while they describe it as being hooked. Some things never change. Also, The Crabb-Hendricks line layed about 4 or 5 big hits while keeping the puck down low and getting a few scoring chances. At the stoppage of play what replay do they show? Letang's one measely hit during that sequence (which was lame) while his line was getting their asses handed to them. Preach on NBC crew. s*** like this is why people claim favoritism toward the Pens and horse face boy. /rant. esteef

It was okay to be sentimental when you had the future of the team cemented in Z, Dats, Lids, but now we can't afford to let our young talent waste away to allow aging vets to retire in peace in the Red Wings country club locker room. holland needs to start seeing this.

I think everyone is with you on this one. Looking back at every GDT you see Cleary getting trashed because he just can't cut it anymore physically and he doesn't have the size to go on like Bert. He needs to go now, we can't afford to be sentimental on this one.

With helm back we get some more depth, but I still would rather have him in the future as a supercenter on the forth line with Abby - Helm - Eaves/Tootoo and then bring up Sheahan or Jarnkrok to center the third line and get some production out of our third line next year with an injection of youth. Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Brunner Nyquist - Filppula - Franzen Tatar - Jarnkrok - Bert Abby - Helm - Eaves/Tootoo Buyout Sammy let Cleary go (he's done). Not many teams could match that forward depth with Having Emmerton/Andersson and Tootoo as 13/14 guys. Its also a cost effective lineup. Can spend money on the back end.

    Emmerton

I must be the only one who liked what I saw from Chris Conner when he was here. He had more jump, had better speed, through more hits, and was more effective on the ice than Emmerton, Mursak, and any of the other guys rotated up for a few games. The guy was flying. As much as I like Clears, Conner was more effective. If Abby isn't going to score once in a while on Helm's wing, then I think a fourth line of Conner-Abby-Toots could be really effective. Other than him getting injured, what am I missing?

    NHL Commissioner turns 20

I'm glad to have had the opportunity to make sure there was a season this year. It was tough, and a lot of back and forth between the players and the owners, but I think we ended up with a pretty good deal that both sides can be happy with. Now if I can just find someone to buy the Coyotes and keep them in Glendale, I'll be happy. Not to mention our terrible TV deal, and lack of fans in the south. Overall, while there have been some missteps along the way, the pie has gotten bigger, and everyone has been enriched. Not sure about wearing out the knees on my pants. They wear pretty consistently, not really in any specific places. Plus, they're very high quality. I will definitely pass along your greetings to my bo...I mean, Mr. Jacobs. You're number one, also, my friend! I know, right? If they had just listened to me back then, everyone would have been much happier much sooner.

+1 to Firefly being awesome. Some of the best ensemble acting I've seen in any genre. Downright shiny. Nice to see a fellow browncoat here.

It'll be called Amway something. Every time you see the red wings name it's always Detroit Red Wings Presented by Amway! Seriously, we look so frickin dumb.
