What Ed should have said was: "Carcillo should be more careful when throwing a body check, he needs to pick his spots and pick them well because he has to know if someone sees him coming, they are going to try to get out of the way, which could result in Carcillo flying over Nail's shoulder and smacking his head or hurting his neck. And that's what could have happened here...." The straw that broke it for me is when he said that Yakapov should get a penalty for ducking out of the way....what an idiot.

Dude, none of these things can happen. Tatar and Datsyuk are already signed through 2014 and Mrazek is signed through 2015. You cannot re-sign a player until the final year of his contract. That new contract does not start until the season after the current contract expires. There is no restructuring, either. A deal is a deal until the end unless the player is bought out.

Is it a requirement for you to throw a jab at Franzen in every, single, one of your posts? We all understand how you feel about Franzen, but it's getting tiresome reading the same line regurgitated by you every post. He's lazy but scores goals and has the best cap hit on our team. You're very welcome. I agree, should've had a link in the OP. I also agree that trading Franzen shouldn't be on Kenny's mind. Finding a top-tier, two-way defenseman and a reliable scorer is what should be occupying his time. Shopping Franzen or Filpulla or whatever other nonsense the media had dreamed up would be going straight into seller mode. This is NOT the time to become a seller. There is real talent on this team and they have proven they can win against the best even with a depleted lineup. We own wins against St. Louis, Nashville and Vancouver and have also taken Chicago to OT. This team needs a full, healthy roster and some more firepower both up front and on the back end. Giving up now would be foolish.

Ed Olczyk, Keith Jones and Mike Milbury make Idiocracy seem less like a comedy and more like a documentary.

Why is this thread here? Does nobody realize the wings are only 4 points behind Nashville who are 4th in the west. I know they can't buy a win right now but if they go on a 4 or 5 game winning steak and a few teams go on a skid and the wings will be right back in the playoffs
