Bulls***. I can count the number of bad games he's had this season on one hand. Goaltending is not this team's problem by any stretch of the imagination.

Agreed. I don't think anyone has a problem with the league making money. More revenue, the cap goes up, that benefits the Wings. But from a fan's perspective, it's about maintaining integrity while also making money. Like putting advertisements on the players jerseys. That would make the league a ton more money. Is it going to change in any way how hockey in the NHL is played? Absolutely not. But I still hope they never do such a thing because even though the game is exactly the same, it cheapens it. The Winter Classic had integrity and by it's exclusivity of once a year it was a special event. The amount of promotion, build up to the game, everything keyed in this one outdoor game. Adding 5 other games certainly isn't the end of the world, but it took an incredibly unique event and basically turned it into 6 hockey games that are played outside.

We like our team

Anytime a Wings player has a chance from a high scoring area like Mule just did and they pass the puck, Babcock should bench them the rest of the game. Maybe then they'd get the message to shoot the damn puck! You are not the Russian 5. When you get in a high percentage area, let er rip.

When is a Wing going to respond?

I don't think he's a disappointment. He's a guy that creates energy and is capable of 30 points. Which I'm sure he could do if he played. Looks like a dumb contract for the little amount of ice time he's getting

I am super mad. Much like many of you on here. I mean, I am probably madder then I should be about a hockey game. But comments like these are sad and embarrassing. This team does not deserve to get booed off ice. They have made the playoffs for 20 straight years and have given all of us, including you, something to cheer about more then any other franchise in the NHL. This team works harder on a nightly basis then many teams from the past red wings team. This will happen with young kids in the lineup. We dominated tonight and 2 stupid mistakes lost us this game. it sucks.

Howard had a Sh** night. But he is a good goalie & he has been there almost EVERY game he has played this year. He absolutely contributed to this loss, but we are on the edge of the post season for soooooooo many reasons that have nothing to do with him. We have way too many 4 liners, throughout this line up; And that... is the GM's responsibility to address. as it was last year & the year before.

Kipper stole the game and Jimmy needs to never come out of his net again.

I am done with them for the night. They are scary bad to the point of embarrassment. But I have one piece of advice before I go: SHOOT THE F#*%KING PUCK.

I know I'm a pessimist, but this team is not playing with the urgency required. Looks like they're just skating around out there. Up the ante!

FORECHECK FORECHECK FORECHECK This is how Calgary played us last time too. They routinely have 3 guys high on the forecheck and we can't break it. Even when we do, we lack enough team speed to really make them pay.

What a complete lie. He's one of the most consistant goalies around. Maybe if your definition of 'doing good' is having a <95 sv% he only does it once in a while. No goalie is perfect, Rangers fans complain about Lundqvist allowing 1 softie every game, but Howard is one of few reasons we still have a chance to make the playoffs. He hasn't buckled under the pressure of playing behind a team that can't score more than 2 goals per game.

That I won't disagree with. The people freaking out are overreacting. Jimmy has been consistently solid since he struggled early. I won't bury him over a bad goal.

if he hasn't learned to shoot the puck by now, he never will I used to be a Flip fan, but now I kinda wish Holland had traded him at the deadline b/c now we're either gonna over-pay for his services or lose him for nothing

Tootoo is absolutely exactly as advertised and one of the few Wings I notice everygame he plays. As stated, I think Babs has reigned him in and has him scared of going to the box and playing 'his' game. Love the guy and the way he plays....he has another gear that we havent seen but you cant play that way if you're worried about getting grounded from mom n dad.

two reasons for this 1. he keeps getting scratched, so he is trying not to make mistakes, and you aren't always ready to go if you don't play regularly 2. I think babs is discouraging him from playing the way he did at the start of the season for whatever reason

I thought BEFORE the season and all the injuries that Sammy and Bert were already done being effective Top 6 players. For all the unfair stuff this organization gets blamed for, the MOST fair criticism is their apparent reliance on "crutch" players they go back to (and usually overpay) when nothing else works out. They did it with Bert, Jason Williams, and Kyle Quincey, and probably others. People say guys like Tatar aren't "ready" to be Top 6 forwards on a playoff team, but if their replacement is a guy who no longer belongs in the Top 6, that's even worse because you're riding declining players into their NHL grave, when you could be developing and evaluating young players on the way up.
