Couple thoughts. 1. Alfredsson's contract is not "bad" 2. Bert will not be coming off the books. He'll re-sign unless Holland gets visited by a poltergeist 3. "Jurco makes a push"? He'll make this team before Mantha and Jarnkrok. They'll both spend next year in GRs before making the jump IMO. 4. I'd expect DeKeyser to get 2.5 - 3M. 5. We will have enough cap space to sign a Vanek, a Marleau, or a Dan Boyle. Whether they want to come here or not is another issue.

However bad the Wings get, and honestly they are not all that bad, it's nothing compared to the 70s and 80s. THAT was a sad time to be a Wings fan. Everyone be grateful for that at least.

Nyquist draws a lot of penalties, wish he was up the entire year. Instead we had Cleary to does nothing but take penalties.

After the way hes been playing, i think we all need to be patient. Its hard to remember he hasn't played a full season yet, so his defensive lapses are to be expected. But seriously. He stood up in a big way last night, and his potential for offensive ability is awesome. If our d wasn't depleted I'd be all on daburas idea to play him up front But i am excited to see how good he can be, and i was really hard on him at the start of the season. And I think Him and dd would be an awesome pairing, now and in the future.

He needs a system where the players listen to him and do whats asked of them. SHOOT THE PUCK! MAKE THE SIMPLE PLAY! A part from Babcock playing in the game and doing it for them there is only so much he can do. I could see it now, Babcock (in the stupidest managerial move in hockey history) gets let go by Detroit today at noon and at 12:01 the coach of Tampa Bay gets fired and at 12:01:30 Babcock has a coaching job in Tampa working for Yzerman! You can't have a Stanley Cup winning team every year and we are 22 straight years in the playoff, longest running streak in all of the major pro sports!! Let him do his job, things will straighten out OR invent the electronic remote control device that Babcock can use from the bench to electricute the desired player at the time he needs to shoot rather than pass. It can also be used to punish a player after he has given the puck to the wrong team (which we should also blame on Babcock I suppose), taken a stupid penalty, gotten hurt for an extended period of time, etc.

I have been saying this for a long time. Brendan Smith should be the guy manning the point on the 2nd PP unit... not Kindl. Kindl is like a little kid when he gets the puck... he never knows what to do and then just ends up making a stupid play. Smith has the offensive instinct and the ability to get points. Babcock is making a huge mistake not playing Smith on the PP

Best way to use Sammy is to strap him to the net like Goldberg in mighty ducks and use him as a shooter tutor in practice. Otherwise maybe fill water bottles?

He does provide the team with a guaranteed offsides call every other time he steps on the ice (I was going to end that comment with a smiley or an "lol", but it's just too darn aggrevating)

Cleary is infuriating but "hate" is too strong. I love all the Red Wings...I just don't like them all, all the time.

The most infuriating thing about this team is that we have players that can only be defended by stating that they aren't quite as terrible as other players on the team.

A puck moving top four defenseman that can contribute offensively. Especially critical missing DeKeyser, but necessary even when he's healthy.

I've made my points on Quincey. He's a flaming bag of s*** on someones porch. But if not for Hollands poor management, how good could this team be? Quincey: 3.775 cap hit, 3 assists in 24 GP -14 Cleary: 1.75 cap hit 1G 2A in 23 GP +1 Samuelsson: 3.00 cap hit 1G 1A in 12 GP -1 Miller: 1.35 cap hit 1G 1A in 24 GP -8 Tootoo: 1.9 cap hit 0G 0A in 8GP -4 Eaves: 1.2 cap hit 0G 0A in 3 GP -2 12.975mil tied up in 6 guys who don't really do much. Could plugging in affordable kids and spending money more wisely on secondary scoring have really made us worse? Obviously not. As a saving grace, 4 of them are UFA's at seasons end, and when the cap goes up Millers contract won't be so bad. But it isn't pretty for this season, I had forgotten about Eaves and Tootoos contracts sitting in the minors, just poor management this season.
