As I said in another thread, I'm thrilled, as we all are, at how this has all worked out with Cleary, Sammy and Bert riding the pine (and outta here next season) and seeing the kids thriving with the big club. But Babcock "boldly" stating that they're good and have jobs, yeah, well the grass is green and the sky is blue. He was basically given no choice but to play the Griffins. They excelled because they weren't brought up and put on a 4th line and given 5 minutes a game. They had to log a lot of minutes and each and every one of them took the opportunity and ran with it.

Yeah they were ninth in the league after their california trip I think and then they lost 11 out of 13 and fell to 22nd place

These coach of the year awards are pretty stupid if you ask me. Most time the most deserving coach never gets the award. Even though I think Babs deserves it, I still think he gets screwed.

I said it before and i'll repeat it again, Ryan would be another Franzen on this team. He floats, plays like he doesn't care for half the season, and would turn into the whipping boy here rapidly because of how streaky he is. I believe 2 seasons ago he went 40 games without a goal, and had something awful like 6 assists in that span. He was kept out of the olympics for a reason, glad we passed and we didn't get another lazy, uninspired player here.

Not to derail this thread, but anyone bashing Mule's play hasn't been watching him. Yes he's snake-bitten but he's had a ton of chances and he's playing well, driving the net, going to the tough areas, etc.

I'm not usually a big Scott Hartnell fan, but the playoff series two years ago where he basically baited Cindy into losing his mind (and with it, Cindy's team) was one of the greatest stretches of epic awesomeness I've seen since the Wings won their last Cup.

Yeah because everyone on here is getting all worked up about it. When was the last time Mule, Chelios or any of those you named was voted the worse cry baby in hockey by his peers? That's what this whole thread was about not how he conducts himself off of the ice. This is a sport. Entertainment which crosby fails at unless you like crying and flailing around on the ice after a ref touches him in the face. No where in this video or the thread has someone said anything about his off ice character. The problem is he was shoved down our throats from the very beginning of him coming into the league and when you play like crosby does unless you are a pens fan you are going to get much hate. Stop trying to defend him by lumping him into others that are no where near the level. Doesn't work.
