Not because he's from Michigan, but I'm sure it factors in for management, along with the other aspects of Abby's game that were mentioned. For what he brings, 4 million is pretty much the norm. He and Kesler are comparable in several ways - scoring, hitting, some "fancy stats". Kesler's going to be making 6.8 million starting in 2016-17. Beleskey is another guy who I think is comparable to Abdelkader. He's getting 3.8M for five seasons after scoring 20+ goals once. If Abdelkader can replicate his 2014-15 season, he's going to get around 4 million.

I hope both Jurco and Pulkkinen get regular playing time. I'd hate to see them be on a rotation. One or the other in the line-up.

This is a sneaky-good add. I've seen him play a couple times and I remember being impressed. Not "Holy ***!" impressed, but certainly "Huh, I'll have to remember that name. I hope he's on the Wings' radar" impressed. It's safe to say he's NHL-ready or somewhere thereabouts. Should we expect a trade or two? Honestly, I'm kinda surprised he signed with us, given our logjam. Maybe he knows something we don't (i.e. Kenny told him the logjam won't be a thing much longer). Or maybe there wasn't much interest in him. With 7 one way D in Detroit, and now 11 D in Grand Rapids it sure seems like some deal is on the cards whichever way you look at it. I know some will be going down to Toledo, but it bodes well for the future. I believe we have 5 rh on the D in GRs so I really think Blash will won't one of those in Detroit to go with Greens rh shot. But who ?

I agree Abby and Kesler aren't really comparable but, I see no reason why we should doubt Abby replicates last season..? He really seems to have found his game. As long as he works hard again like we know he will, and gets the same opportunity under Blashill that he did under babs, 20+ goals and 40+ points doesn't seem out of the question at all.

This confuses me. Where does Russo fit on the Wings' depth chart? We have Marchenko, Oulette, Sproul all knocking on the door, plus Kronwall, Ericsson, Green, Dekeyser, Smith, Kindl, and Quincey. I would have imagined he would sign somewhere where he's more likely to play given that he lost his job with the Islanders due to depth.

I wasn't aware Lebda was 6'1", right handed, and a somewhat physical player...
