I think Holland can adapt to new circumstances. He's shown he can make smart moves as a trade deadline seller, so I've no reason to think he couldn't and wouldn't make a big "hockey trade" or two in the near future, when the time is right. I've wanted him to make a big hockey trade for years now, but I get why he hasn't done it. Now that we're stockpiling young talent, I'm assuming we're approaching a point where we have a good number of attractive trade pieces, possibly making a guy like AA or Mantha expendable. As for Parayko...I'm inclined to agree with you. But, I mean, the hypothetical pool of desirable targets isn't limited to just Parayko.

I'll probably take some **** for this because of my 'team friendly" ideas, but damn, looking a few of the last contracts handed out by other teams, Pittsburgh Jake Guentzel for example getting $6M per year extension, with a career high of only 48 points, I have to admit, Dylan Larkin, our soon to be Captain, has a VERY team friendly contract! Zetterberg retiring or not! Comparing Guentzel's contract to what lies ahead of us, AA is gonna cost us some bucks in 2020, as will Mantha. Gus Nyquist DOES deserve a raise (I still hope he garners us a 1st PLUS at the TDL before we re-sign him though.) IF we do manage to draft Jack Hughes, thank GOD he'll be on a ELC for three years...we are going to need all the cap we can spare within the next 5-7 years! Maybe Karlsson isn't the way to go...

Yup. This team has to finish at least in the bottom five (can't overstate how badly we need a gamechanger like Hughes) and damn if we aren't on pace to do exactly that.
