Maybe hire Gronborg and send he and Lidstrom to help recruit the Swede. Total cap hit in 2022/23 = $70 million ($74 when Fabbri returns) The next season (with Bertuzzi and Larkin's extensions): Total cap hit of $68 million. Fabbri starts the season on IR. For defense, I sign Edler to a 1 year deal and pair him with Seider. I like the 2nd pair. I re-sign Staal to pair with Lindstrom on the 3rd pair. Oesterle is 7th D. Edit: Walman with Lindstrom. No Staal.

A 27 year old LEFT WING who will command at least a 5 year contract for a minimum of 7.5 per. And You guys think a 27 yo Bertuzzi should be traded because he is outside the rebuild window?

I wouldn't mind trading Suter ASAP. He was awful this year IMO. Despite being given top6 minutes he scored like a 3rd liner. Watching him he did nothing to help the offense. Plenty of frustrating defensive lapses too. His defense is BAD. He made Namestnikov look like a total G. He has an okay contract and some youth still at 26. Ditch him now. Give that 3rd line C spot to Ras or Veleno to start the season and see what they can do to gain some more experience.

And used him at forward of course. He's definitely a sniper, not a traditional powerforward like you'd expect. He's not super physical. He doesn't even play net front on the PP, he plays on the flank in the one timer spot. His shot is really good. He can absolutely dangle guys and use his massive size and wingspan to protect the puck. He has creativity too and always finds new ways to score. His foot speed sucks, but he's shifty on his skates and has good maneuverability. I'm not sure his foot speed will matter as much as people think. His stride is massive and he can take edges. I guess a better analogy for him is he's Jonathan Ericsson + Skill + Shooting + Creativity.

Suter will be on the team to start the season and won't be traded until the TDL. Berggren will start the season in Detroit. Zadina isn't going to be dropped to the 4th line. Even if Fabbri cant play to start the season and Soderblom starts in GR, that is still 9 forwards even with demoting Moose and Sunkist to the 4th. No room or need for Forsberg. Kadri is already 31. Too old for the rebuild.
