    I think the underrated part of the Petry deal is just how good the dude still is. He's still a play driver and for 2.2 million he's a steal. Plus, there are few guys in the league I'd rather have Edvinsson learning from.

    Plus all these short mid tier deals are ripe for a trade package for the next disgruntled star. This is what the NBA does and why these average roster players with middle tier salary are actually worth a lot when trading in a cap crunched league

    We played by the same rules as everyone else. But you're making my point for me, competent management and great player development contribute to success WAY more than lottery picks.

    you could play Määtä and Ghost and have Holl as seventh D. Anyway it´s one of the nicer problems to have. Can´t remember the last time we had a D corps that deep and potentially good.
