    Thats not what the draft is. the draft is targeting a player you like and taking that player with your pick not gambling. NHL teams dont give a rats ass whos ranked where on public boards. They have there on list and take the players they like regardless what Sportsnet or TSN or the Athletic think.

    I know, you'd have to think that's good for a few reasons. First, the Wings can keep an eye on his development at Michigan. But also, spots on Michigan's team are pretty hard to land in their own right. If Michigan's program wants him that's just another set of eyes that have looked at this kid and liked what they saw. The Wings shouldn't draft him BECAUSE Michigan likes him, but having the additional confirmation from a respected program can't hurt.

    I'd rather you not mention any names that could have been Red Wings...Even more with this player when considering who the current GM is with that franchise he plays for..... Oh man the f-ing irony...Bouchard - nah - Hughes at U of M down the road - nah...Motherf-ing Zadina! If there's any reason to hold a grudge against Holland.....This would be at or near the top.
