I just have to comment on the new goal horn with the end of Without Me. It's a sound a 7 year old would make when he or she is trying to annoy their older sibling. I love it!

Yeah too bad you only heard it twice. I was able to hear it 6 times vs. Columbus, 5 goals and after the final horn sounded.

2024 Goal Horn

I think it's pretty funny, and I don't mind it. My one problem (and this is true for other teams like Chicago as well) is that it's meant to troll the other team. We score a goal and rather than celebrate our team's accomplishment we're trying to be irritating instead. I kinda don't like that part of it. Why not "Detroit vs. Everybody" by Eminem instead? Like, make the point that our team did something good as opposed to "something bad happened to your team".

Ya, but if the Gretzky deal went through, it would've changed the whole trajectory of the 90's Wings. Everywhere he went he eventually brought his friends with him. It would've changed our draft position and needs. I will also remind you, Gretzky and friends never won another Cup after he was dealt. I shiver to think that we could possibly still be in a Cup drought. Obviously we don't know for sure, but I'll take what we had. So basically, I'm not comfortable with what it may take to acquire McDavid.

These announcers can’t be the regulars on NHL network. This has to be some kind of make a wish situation.

Every time Kevin Weekes calls a game I’m reminded why I’d like to see him jettisoned into space on a rocket.
