Statts 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 I haven’t heard of an argument. I think it is just Hasek staying put in his crease and making the ice girls work around him. Heres a pic from the game against the Islanders on Jan. 30. Kinda funny how he is ignoring her
Cicada 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 well i must have been imagining it becaue i've trawled through all the away GDT''s and can't find it.. so nm I haven’t heard of an argument. kozac 10 Report post Posted February 20, 2007 I was at that game and yeah, he would just stand there and make them sweep around him. I wouldn't be able to just stand there and not talk to them, but i guess he's a professional and has to focus on his job.

Your right, another good reason to talk to them.

sibiriak 84 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Snow in the crease is a goalie's friend. Makes crawling easier, and may stop a trickling through puck.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 (edited) Snow in the crease is a goalie's friend. Makes crawling easier, and may stop a trickling through puck. exactly. I figured it was just a ploy on his part to keep them from cleaning the shavings out of his crease. EDIT: wow. Am I the only one who thought sentence sounded kinda dirty? puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 There was no confrontation and Dom never said a word to any of them, literally. He ignored them until they gave up and went away. As it should be! I saw Dom do the exact same thing in Dallas that he's doing to the Isles ice-hos. He doesn't like the distraction and interruption, I would guess. He stood just like that in the crease in Dallas and stared at the scoreboard, refusing to move... and why should he? I suspect Dom is sort of "old-school" and doesn't think the media/marketing ploy of having half-dressed bimbos on the ice every TV break serves any particular purpose. If they ever stooped to installing slush-shovellettes in Detroit, I would be shocked. Al the Octopus Man is classic, keep him! Just as a post-script to this, there was a young man sitting next to me in Dallas who was as disgusted/amused as I was (especially when one of them fell on her a** and the entire arena howled with laughter). Dom was gentlemanly enough to lean over and ask if she was OK. I think she was scared of him, she left real fast. I am with Dom on this one.

You do realize there is no way you could actually know Dom's feelings on the "ice-hos", don't you? Detroit has already had their version of slush-shovellettes. years ago when they would give away a car to try and get fans to come to games, they had two girls dressed pretty similarly as those in the picture who would escort fans out to center ice to play Score-O. I'm guessing they don't do that anymore.
Salviaman 104 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 (edited) If I was Hasek in that pic id be using my stick to lift up the back of her skirt to check out the rear end. Edited February 21, 2007 by Salviaman
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 You do realize there is no way you could actually know Dom's feelings on the "ice-hos", don't you? True, but it's pretty well known that Hasek is a very stereotypical moody eccentric and obsessive-compulsive goalie type, and doesn't like people fussing with his crease, water bottle, etc.

I'm guessing they don't do that anymore. I obviously don't know what Dom thinks, and didn't say I did. I said I "guess" That means I don't know for sure, 'cause I am guessing, see? His body language sure says "get lost". I just thought someone ought to point out that the entire thread is imaginary, as far as I know. I am fairly certain if Hasek ever even thought about saying "boo" to one of these chicas, it would probably be front page news on sports pages across the US and Canada, don't you? Therefore, the topic of the thread didn't happen, to the best of my knowledge. Of course, I don't see the slush-shovelling activities during TV breaks, since I see commercials. I have seen Hasek do the stone-goalie, parked in his crease, in person, in Dallas. Not sure what they do in Detroit, but if they install cheerleaders, like the Canes, I will be very disappointed. Does Motown really have to worry about getting fans to show up at games? I thought every single one was sold out?
Oddzilla51 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 Being a goalie, I would have gotten down on the ice and started to stretch. Better view. Yes, I'm allowed to be a pig once in a while.
