This Les Miles stuff is going to get intense. People will be annoying him non stop from now on (not that they already weren't). I also got the sense Carr does not want him here while watching his press conference today. He brushed the question off, and talked about the 'heated recruiting trail'. He must have been referring to Jai Eugene, a CB who committed to Michigan 2 years ago, and then left for LSU. I think Carr should have a fair say in the next hire, but I don't think you can say no to what Miles has done during his career.

I have heard alot of talk about people wanting Les Miles as the next coach since he was an assistant under Bo. Who else has been rumored to be a posibility as the new coach? On Fox Sports they mentioned Brian Kelly at Cincinnati, this I don't understand since he is in his first year down there.

I think Brian Kelly is No. 2 on the list. I can't see him leaving Cincinnati so quick, but at the same time how could you turn down the Michigan job when you compare it to all his previous jobs? If Kelly left I think he would quickly get a Nick Saban reputation.

Can't really name any other serious candidates...many have said Ferentz, Shifano, English, or Tedford, but I don't think anyone really knows.

With the way much of the coaching staff is still under contract I wouldn't be surprised if it was a promotion from within. I'd like to see Miles, but he does have a sweet deal down at LSU.

edit: Henne looked bad, still injured bad

If U-M hired within I would want English, but U-M can do much better then English. The good things about English is the players love him to death, and he is a great recruiter. The bad things: He has never been a head coach, and his defense is very inconsistent.

I apologize for the mix of clear and blurry shots. I just uploaded all the ones I had before I have to get working on my homework. Sadly, all the shots of me (guy in the Michigan helmet) where I look incredibly drunk, I'm not. I just look like a dumbass in every picture for some reason. Lucky me.

Henne was 11 for 34, 68 yards, comp % of 32.4. 3 sacks, 0 tds, 0 ints.

How can you say that Henne played well with those stats?

Because more than half of his incompletions were his top two receivers dropping what should have been an easy catch?

IIRC, Manningham dropped seven and Arrington five...If you don't count those attempts against Henne, he's 11 for 22. That's 50%. Still not great, but given that Mallett came in a few times to spell Henne because of his shoulder, that's pretty good.

...and if manningham wouldn't have caught that td pass or hart wouldn't have picked up the ball and ran for a first down on the fumble, Michigan State would have beaten Michigan.

And nobody ever claimed Michigan dominated MSU, did they?

Arrington didn't drop 5 balls. He dropped 2 at most.

that's because michigan didn't dominate msu in that game. Michigan dominated the first half and state dominated the 2nd half.

100 top NFL prospects

Interesting list. Wonder how michigan fans would feel if they saw Crable or Hart or both ending up in a Lions jersey.

I would enjoy it, but at the same time I don't think they fit the Lion's style of play, and they are still the Lions :P

I noticed Manningham, and Devin Thomas are on there. Wonder if they will jump?

I'd feel bad for them. Even if they're Wolverines, they deserve better than playing for the Lions.

True. What Wolverines will have success in the NFL?

I think Long is a sure bet. I think Hart won't have success tho. Looks like Chris Perry and look what short career Perry had.

So you think Hart will break his leg like Perry did?

I don't know about the leg problem. But Hart's stock has dropped since last year, and he has had his share of injuries especially this year, that makes me believe that he will be a bust in the NFL.

Another great college back who had injury problems and was considered quite a possible bust due to health:

Adrian Peterson.

Perry, OTOH, was quite durable in college. There are no guarantees that a guy will or won't have injury issues in the NFL if he did or didn't in college.

Jury is still out on Peterson. Right now he shows tons of potential. THAT'S IT! But to say he is not a bust is not fair. Way too soon to determine that.

The reason I don't think Hart will do well in the NFL is based on 3 reasons.

#1 his size. Say all you want about his heart (no pun intended), but the kid is short.

#2 he doesn't catch the ball. Majority of the good quality running backs out there in the NFL, also do their fair share of catching the ball as well.

#3 Michigan's history of having good college backs, but poor nfl backs. No doubt Michigan has had better QBs, WRs, defensive players than good running backs make it in the NFL.

I don't think you will be able to call Hart a NFL bust, because he won't be drafted high enough to be considered one. If stays in the NFL a long time I would call it a great career. I love Hart, but he lacks size, and speed for the next level. His attitude, and ability to break tackles may give him a solid career though...

I think of the Wolverines going to the NFL this year Henne will have the best career out of all of them. He's a warrior, very smart, and if not for injury he would in the first group of QB's going to the NFL this year.

Even better than Jake Long?? That player just screams offensive lineman of michigan past in Hutchinson or Jansen.

Yeah I expect Long to have a great career as long as he doesn't get the injury bug. I just have a feeling on Henne. Maybe I will be miles off, but we will see...

I dont think Hart or Henne will do anything at the NFL level...definitely not Henne. Jake Long, on other hand, will be really good.

We're shaping up to have a really lackluster title game in Ohio St vs WVU. That would be AWFUL! Hopefully West Virginia drops another game. I have a strong feeling that whoever wins between Kansas and Missouri, is going to lose in the Big 12 title game. Im definitely rooting for Kansas to go unbeaten though.
