Guest Crymson Report post Posted October 18, 2013 (edited) Ansar Khan @AnsarKhanMLive 16sWings said Kronwall has concussion and cuts to right ear but is otherwise OK. Trevor Thompson @iamtrevort 6sJust spoke to Nik Kronwall. Knot on his forehead, couple scrapes but says he's fine, upset with putting himself in a bad position. #RedWings Helene St. James @HeleneStJames 10sPer Ken Holland, latest on Niklas Kronwall, he has "mild concussion."Helene St. James @HeleneStJames 57sRight now, Niklas Kronwall will fly with teammates to Phoenix. Sounds like hit looked much worse than impact seemed. From what was said on TV: Kronwall was conscious while on the stretcher, was fully aware and oriented soon afterward, and did not need to leave the stadium for treatment. e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Glad to hear that Kronner isn't hurt that badly. Still hope the DoPS throws the book at McLeod. If Kronner has to sit out a few games for precautionary reasons... I guess we'll see what Smith can do when asked to step up.

wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 I love how Kronners is such a humble guy, just like the great Red Wings leaders before him. Instead of crying about the hit like a guy like Crosby would, Kronners admits that he put himself in the bad position. Great to hear he is doing okay because we cannot afford to lose him too long. 6 55fan, BadgerBob, puckloo39 and 3 others reacted to this
Phil Lesh 93 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Cautiously good news. Over/Under on how many games McLeod gets for this one? Say 5.5? I'm taking the over.

Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Good god I hope this doesn't mean Smith gets back in there. Hopefully Kronner will be ready ASAP. Players with concussions or showing concussion symptoms are required to sit for at least 7 days. Which means Smith will likely be in the lineup vs. PHX on Saturday. BottleOfSmoke 5,965 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 @TSNBobMcKenzie: Kronwall turned, he isn't as "popular" as Boyle, but HFB is HFB. I'd be surprised if McLeod doesn't get suspended for this one. We'll see. THIS PISSES ME OFF. I don't care if you're Wayne ******* Gretzky or Pluggy McScrubberson--a bad hit on a human being is a bad hit on a human being. Suspend that s*** equally. Someone who kills my next door neighbor shouldn't get less jail time than someone who kills Brad Pitt (logical fallacy blah blah blah). 2 derblaueClaus and McAwesome reacted to this

He definitely did put himself into a bad position. McLeod still had time to let up and avoid contact with the head, but turning against the grain on tight pressure like that, especially with your head low is just asking for trouble. RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 For some reason, hits on Wings are exempted from suspension ... remember Weber on Z? 1 puckloo39 reacted to this

You are overreacting, the hit was not THAT bad, but Kronwall got caught in a awkward position, just like he said himself. Had he not been carried out it would probably be no suspension at all, but now he might get a few games.

Nev 1,085 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 Well guys, you got your wish. An injury to open up cap space and a roster spot. I hope you're all ****ing happy now.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 This is NOT the LTIR injury I want. I want someone to stub their toe or get dandruff. Scary watching him go down like that. I was at work and Loo texted me about it. Just saw the video now, and I'm glad that I know that it wasn't as bad as it looked. I'm not belittling concussions- they're dangerous stuff, but that looked horrible. Love Ericsson's tackle after the hit. Nothing bothers me more than when players fight around a fallen guy, but E pushed him over and away from Nik. I don't think it was malicious on McLeod's part, but it was dangerous. Get better, Nik! nosyt612 103 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 I say 3 games, like it or not Kronwall turned pretty late and he acknowledged this himself but McCleod still has to be responsible for hitting players in the numbers. As far as I know he hasn't been suspended before so I wouldn't expect the book to be thrown at him.

Euro_Twins 4,485 Report post Posted October 18, 2013 I did like big rig giving McLeod the rock bottom after that hit though. Here is my argument for the hot, McLeod followed Kronner from center ice see his numbers the entire time, and sure he might have turned late, but from where his head was McLeod was hitting him in the head regardless of Kronner moving or not. 1 esteef reacted to this

Here is my argument for the hot, McLeod followed Kronner from center ice see his numbers the entire time, and sure he might have turned late, but from where his head was McLeod was hitting him in the head regardless of Kronner moving or not. McLeod was far enough away to see how low Kronner was and could of let up but he didn't. 3 Dominator2005, esteef and puckloo39 reacted to this
