Right now, Niklas Kronwall will fly with teammates to Phoenix. Sounds like hit looked much worse than impact seemed.

From what was said on TV: Kronwall was conscious while on the stretcher, was fully aware and oriented soon afterward, and did not need to leave the stadium for treatment.

I love how Kronners is such a humble guy, just like the great Red Wings leaders before him. Instead of crying about the hit like a guy like Crosby would, Kronners admits that he put himself in the bad position. Great to hear he is doing okay because we cannot afford to lose him too long.

Players with concussions or showing concussion symptoms are required to sit for at least 7 days. Which means Smith will likely be in the lineup vs. PHX on Saturday.

He definitely did put himself into a bad position. McLeod still had time to let up and avoid contact with the head, but turning against the grain on tight pressure like that, especially with your head low is just asking for trouble.

You are overreacting, the hit was not THAT bad, but Kronwall got caught in a awkward position, just like he said himself. Had he not been carried out it would probably be no suspension at all, but now he might get a few games.

Scary watching him go down like that. I was at work and Loo texted me about it. Just saw the video now, and I'm glad that I know that it wasn't as bad as it looked. I'm not belittling concussions- they're dangerous stuff, but that looked horrible.

Love Ericsson's tackle after the hit. Nothing bothers me more than when players fight around a fallen guy, but E pushed him over and away from Nik.

I don't think it was malicious on McLeod's part, but it was dangerous.

I did like big rig giving McLeod the rock bottom after that hit though.

Here is my argument for the hot, McLeod followed Kronner from center ice see his numbers the entire time, and sure he might have turned late, but from where his head was McLeod was hitting him in the head regardless of Kronner moving or not.

McLeod was far enough away to see how low Kronner was and could of let up but he didn't.
