Looks likes its a precaution in case Datsyuk can't go but also from the article they may choose him over Cleary which I doubt people would be upset about. He's fast and has been scoring goals in the AHL but that prob wont translate if Pulky cant do it. I would think hes in for Cleary, who has had to play 2 games in a row now which is just the worst of news Would have to assume if a top 6 forward were hurt, AA or Miele would be getting the call. themcityblues 249 Report post Posted April 7, 2015 (edited) Ferraro was called up last year in a similar situation: deep in the season with the Wings desperately looking for points. He played pretty terribly. I don't recall anybody thinking he played well. Maybe he's a year wiser, but based on the history I wouldn't expect him to do anything for this team. I hope he does, though... he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Small guy, though, and probably not used to playing in the NHL near playoff time where the game truly excels above and beyond. Losing Abby sucks. Sometimes he strikes me as the only guy on this team gritty enough to be part of a Stanley Cup team. He's been excellent all year, especially in physical games where the Wings get shut down. Losing him is a big loss. Oh well, hope we can school Carolina twice and luck out against Montreal. I don't care for the team but I've always liked the Penguins sweaters and Malkin completes my hat trick of current Russian superstars along with Datysuk and Ovechkin. I wish they'd send him back down and call up nosek, or aa if Abby and/or Cole are gonna be out any longer.
