Out of curiosity, why do we not want to see our draft picks play defense?

Eddogg is still in rehab and none of the others are remotely ready. Do you even follow the wings?

we juat brought in Ghosty and Holl in UFA after bringing in Maata and Chiarot.  And you wabt to throw abother mediocre defenseman in the mix.  Edvinsson, Johansson, Wallinder, Tuomisto, ASP.  We need to get these guys in the mix.  Not the has beens of other teams.

Again, none of those prospects are ready

Per Eric Engels of Sportsnet, on the Marinaro podcast, Buffalo and Detroit have interest in MTL's Jeff Petry. Michigan born, 35 yo, RHD, scored 31 pts in 61 games last year. Chris Johnston of TSN also says Dallas is interested, but would ask MTL to retain 50%. Return for Petry not expected to be big. Return will be greater if MTL retains.

Lindstrom and a 3rd straight up?

Petry has an NTC blocking him from going to any Western Conf teams

Well hell Blue! You called this one. Except the pick.

Nah, the conditions are the later pick of Detroit or Boston 4th in 2025.

Damn, you win this one.

Fun facts about Jeffrey: Born in Ann Arbor, but grew up around Commerce, MI. Played for Orchard Lake St. Mary's in HS. Then played for MSU in college. Still goes back to MSU to practice at Munn Ice Arena during the summers.

Guy is probably darn happy to back in the mitten.

Best part about this trade is Lindstrom is FINALLY gone. SY has managed to unload all the losers this year. Zadina terminated his own contract. Veleno not re-signed and told to f*** off to Europe. Lindstrom signandtraded. Masterful.

Also want to point out again that we are likely going to see a Chiarot-Petry pairing. They were dope in MTL together and thats what got Chia traded for a 1st and his big contract here. Hopefully they can find that chemistry again.

I am personally not worried about a (percieved) logjam on d but a lot of folks are saying that somebody needs to leave. So, in that case, you think Määttä is the one to go?

Walman - Seider
Ghost - Holl
Chiarot- Petry

LH-RH balance achieved. And Määttä the only defender with no NTC/NMC clause of any kind.

No more Europhags on D.

Seider 3rd Reich - he doesn't fall into that category.

you could play Määtä and Ghost and have Holl as seventh D. Anyway it´s one of the nicer problems to have. Can´t remember the last time we had a D corps that deep and potentially good.

With this trade the Red Wings roster is now majority American born players for the first time in history.

What does Yzerman mean by this?

I am not worried because at least 1 Dman will be injured by October.

He hates Trudeau’s Canada.

Justin just divorced his wife and rumor has it he will soon come out of the closet and become the 2nd ever rainbow world leader behind Macron.

A dark day for Canada, and therefore the world.
