I'm just not a fan of giving the Hart to a goalie unless he just has close to a record year. Miller deserves the Vezina, but I don't think he's been dominate enough to win a Hart like Hasek was.

The irony is that his dad is a boxer, and named him Evander after Holyfield. I like this kid even more now, not only for standing up to that spot-picking cheapshot artist, but also for giving him a taste of the Marc Savard went through. You can run, but you can't hide from karma.

Canuck fan here. I want to commend the posters in this thread for not lowering themselves as to dis our city in retaliation. Alex Burrows is quite often an embarassment to Canuck fans and this is one of those times. We just wish he would STFU and do what he is good at. With his work ethic he should be an admired player in the NHL. Instead he acts like a little tool diving and whining all over the place. If he concentrated on just the game he would be better for it as a player and a person. I won't bother apologizing for him but I will tell you that any Canuck fan that says they are happy with getting the Wings in the 1st round are lying or heavily medicated. I'ld much rather meet you in the final or better yet not at all. If Luongo doesn't get his s*** together I think we're done in 5 or 6. If he miraculously finds his game, I like our chances. So here's to a great series and better yet here's to you guys getting 5th.

Okay everyone listen up. We've iced from GREAT teams over the years and have since about 1999 been projected to "fall off". Too old, too soft, too slow they said. Shanahan left, Fedorov left, we lost guys like Konstantinov, and Captain Steve Yzerman. Yet somehow we've managed to not only stay competitive, but WIN too. How have we done this? Because the cold hard fact is that Niklas Lidstrom has been Detroit's MVP, above ALL the other guys, including Steve Yzerman. Lidstrom's game makes every player from the goalie behind him, to his defensive partner, to all 3 forwards better and easier. Now we were good enough a number of years to win the cups we did. Would we have won 4 in 10 seasons? Nope. Not without Nik. Bobby Orr Niklas Lidstrom Doug Harvery IMO.

Having seen Kindl play a few times, I'd be ecstatic if he ended up as a No. 2 or No. 3 defenseman. My impression of him so far is that he's on track to be a No. 4 or No. 5 -- if that.
