Love, love, love Ovechkin and its more than just who scores more ..blah blah blah. The type of goals impress me just as much. Ovies goal are often mind-blowing highlight reel goals that entertain and amaze! He is so fun to watch and so good for the game.

I'm just not a fan of giving the Hart to a goalie unless he just has close to a record year. Miller deserves the Vezina, but I don't think he's been dominate enough to win a Hart like Hasek was.

The irony is that his dad is a boxer, and named him Evander after Holyfield. I like this kid even more now, not only for standing up to that spot-picking cheapshot artist, but also for giving him a taste of the Marc Savard went through. You can run, but you can't hide from karma.

Canuck fan here. I want to commend the posters in this thread for not lowering themselves as to dis our city in retaliation. Alex Burrows is quite often an embarassment to Canuck fans and this is one of those times. We just wish he would STFU and do what he is good at. With his work ethic he should be an admired player in the NHL. Instead he acts like a little tool diving and whining all over the place. If he concentrated on just the game he would be better for it as a player and a person. I won't bother apologizing for him but I will tell you that any Canuck fan that says they are happy with getting the Wings in the 1st round are lying or heavily medicated. I'ld much rather meet you in the final or better yet not at all. If Luongo doesn't get his s*** together I think we're done in 5 or 6. If he miraculously finds his game, I like our chances. So here's to a great series and better yet here's to you guys getting 5th.

THE REAL DEAL

Green plays on an all offense, run and gun style team. I would rather have a defenseman that puts up points like Lids and Rafalski. Not rushing all the time, just make good paasses move as a unit into the offensive zone. Green is a 4th forward not a defenseman. He's always rushing and getting caught. How often have you seen a 30 goal scoring defenseman get cut from an olympic team? He's got serious defensive problems. I wouldn't complain if we had a guy like that, but a Rafalski type point getter would be much better. I like the physical Rafalski comparison but I see him being better defensively since he's like 6'2 or something and won't get out muscled nearly as much.

You see 15-3-2 I see loss against edmonton, blowout loss to nucks 6-3, couldn't defend a 4goal lead against edmonton, buzzbeaters (yeah that's luck too), kicking motion goal, highstick goal, sloppy game against nashville, sloppy 3-2 win against columbus (players admitted themselves) The record could have been much worse and for this team to go far in the playoffs they just gotta be better... can't wait until wedenesday/thursday and see if they are up for the task to tighten up on defense and EXECUTE on offense.

I love Ovechkin, but Datsyuk would put up nearly the same numbers if he didn't have to play defense either. You're annoying as hell, but I don't see anything wrong with what you did in this thread. You have a massive complex, but your complex isn't the one I'm seeing in this thread sadly.

I don't attempt to derail any thread or troll, everyone just assumes I'm trying to tie everything into Crosby. This thread I originally posted a snide sarcastic comment that was supposed to point at how Backstrom and Semin are going under the radar when Backstrom is approaching 100 points for the first time in his career and Semin is putting up a crazy amount of goals as well. After that post someone replied and said I called Ovechkin a piece of crap,I tried to clarify that I believe Ovechkin is clearly the best goal scorer in the league, and that my purpose was to call attention to Backstrom/Semin. Then someone replied that Backstrom is getting credit and told me I'm wrong to say that Semin is playing with Ovechkin. I reply that Semin is apart of 30% of Oveckin's points and use a tone similar to the one directed at me. Then the troll card gets thrown at me and the thread is derailed. Drake calls me jealous and then I try to talk about my position that Ovechkin's teammates hinder his value in my eyes compared to what another Hart trophy contender has to work with. I would love to have well thought out posts to respond to and debate whether or not my perspective on a certain subject is skewed or not, it's just unfortunate that the maturity thrown back at me is at the stage of being called a "*****" or "troll" when I'm trying to do is discuss hockey.
