Who will be the whipping boys for '10-'11?

Hmm Ericsson and Kindl most likely (if he gets the chance) because they will make so many mistakes and turnovers, the turnovers is the biggest factor when you're talking about whipping boys' in hockey. Howard mostly because of his rebound control. So potentially 3 guys could share the whipping boy position imo.

Is that possible? Remember 2008 when we were simply awesome in the regular season, arguably better than in 96? Lilja was a bum, Filpulla & Hudler would never be NHLers, Drake was a waste of a roster spot....and who can forget the Ozzie/Hasek flame wars? I think you overestimate the maturity of the average interwebz user.

Babcock and Hitchcock coaching the same team... hahahah no comment. But on a serious note, if we got Hitch as an assistant that'd be huge. (Hahaha the puns just keep on coming)

Sounds like he wants them to work on the interstate to me. Maybe he's fed up with 75.

I hated the Avs of the Yzerman era, but awkwardly enough, I enjoyed hating them because so many great games/series resulted from that rivalry. They don't bother me at all now though because that rivalry is all but dead. The Penguins on the other hand, I HATE. And I hate Crosby more than I've ever hated any player in the NHL, even Claude Lemeiux. Crosby is a great hockey player, that there is no question, but he's just the biggest *****, whine-ass, ****** bag, rape 'stache player to ever play the game. Nobody even comes close to my hatred of Crosby, but Malkin is next in line if I had to pick one. I also hate Jerome Iginla. I never really hated the Ducks, just dis-liked them A LOT. Now that Pronger is gone, I don't mind them all that much anymore. Still hate Corey Perry though. The Sharks don't bother me at all, even after last year's playoffs. I was pulling for them to win the Cup after they ousted the Wings. I don't even mind the Blackhawks all that much...I just hate Kane. So to summarize, I enjoyed hating the Avs of yesteryear, I just plain hate the Penguins of today.

We can call the 2nd defensive pairing line the "Stufalski" pairing.

Are there any other teams who run 3 pairs at 20mins per pair in the NHL?

    Televised Pre-Season Game?

Wait wait wait... First game in the Penguins new arena isn't going to be televised? You mean the NHL hates the Red Wings so much that it cancels out their love for Crosby? Hahaha! Just kidding...but seriously.

It's like Babcock came to LGW and said, "You know what, I'm going to give you people what you want". Thank-you Mike.

Priming Kronner to be the #1 of the future. I've always been partial to the idea of having a puck-moving, offensive defenseman with a more hard-nosed one.

They still don't. Miss ya, Lils.

Nothing at all surprising here. If Lilja can't make that team, given the current state of its d-corps, then he'll either have to crawl back to Detroit or head to Europe. This is a perfect scenario for him. Time for the current guys here, especially the younger ones, to step up. Lebda and Lilja are gone ... only the best remain

I don't think you are going to see him doing any enforcing. One nasty hit, and his career could be over.

I hope the "settlement" is something along the lines of "The boys' coaches next year agree to be more caring and involved, and to provide positive, esteem-enhancing feedback. In return, the boys will enroll in figure skating and will not steal the girls' costumes for their own use, even if the panties are prettier."

Number one should have been Crosby.
