Oh yeah, and I forgot to add because Datsyuk and Lidstrom are injured before the All-Star game they didn't hold to their "obligations to the fans, and the rights holders." According to the NHL.

    Bert shows some snarl

Just to make a point off of what a few of you touched on. I really think Bert went through some emotional s*** after that Moore incident. Lets face it- even if you are a badass, you have to feel terrible about being involved in ending someone's career and almost his life. Bert was villianized for a few years later and I think the league also watched him like a hawk, making him out to be the "blind hit assasin". It DID affect his physical presense...how could going through something like that not effect you? That being said, he has played clean, done his pentance with the league and now he is probably feeling like he can utilize his size and physical game again. Its an aspect of his game that makes him an asset. Good to see Bert going back to the kind of hockey player he can be at his age. I like Bert in Detroit and supported his return but my respect level just went up a notch or two. Thumbs up Big Bert

Have to say that I personally was never a "big fan" of organ donation and myself had always declined on my license. About 3 weeks ago my Father passed away and we were asked about 5 minutes later if we would be willing to have any of his organs donated. We (my mom and brother and me) decided that it would be well representative of my Father to do this and agreed to it as he was always known as a selfless man who was there fore other more than himself. We found out the next morning that they were able to use his corneas to allow two blind people to see and his skin to help burn patients. We think (but never got confirmation) that they were able to use his bone for cancer patients as well. It certainly is a great gift to give and it makes a family very proud of the departed loved one. Glad to hear Probert's family was able to experience this blessing and that others will as well from their generosity.

The only only thing worse than the rabid Bettman haters is someone who goes out of their way to praise him. I'll stick with the former, thank you. Here's some reasons I hate him and blame him for since 75% of you are sucking his balls right now. -A labor strike that reduced the season to 48 games, and the other a lockout that lost an entire season. -I'm a hockey fan and I can't watch many games without shelling out money for those channels. -$600 million with ESPN in 1998 to $72.5 with Versus in 2008 -Bulls*** scheduling in the 2009 playoffs. -Terrible, terrible reffing every year. Hey! remember the 2008, 2009, 2010 playoffs?!? -Putting teams in cities where I don't believe hockey will ever be successful(well, maybe because of teams like the Red Wings and revenue sharing) -The dilution of talent because of over expansion. -Hockey isn't yet popular in the U.S. so lets start playing in Europe! -Handling of the Phoenix situation. -Did I mention terrible AND s***ty reffing? -Say what you want about his wonderful economic growth that you make it out to be but the NFL, MLB, NBA and even NASCAR spank the NHL every year. -And the most recent for me wasthe NHL's reaction to this fiasco. A prime example of, "Shut the hell up, we're in charge." Are all of these his fault? Probably not.Let me hold onto those delusions. BUT there is a reason he get's booed so many places he goes. He gets booed at the NHL DRAFT for christ sake. You talk about him eliminating the clutch and grab play like it was such a genius move too, no just a goddamn OBVIOUS one. /end of rant

Hit on Franzen worthy of suspension

Psh... They can say whatever they want. They have Matt Cooke on their team. That guy is an embarrassment not just to the game but to humanity as well. And again, we're talking about a city that showed overwhelming support for a friggin rapist.

Hit on Franzen worthy of suspension

Hey, even if there was video proof, remember that FS Pittsburgh now has a history of covering things up (a goal last season that should have counted against the Pens, FSP withheld a vital camera angle from Toronto), so it wouldn't have mattered.

    An absolute steal...

HAH!!!! So this guy gets a suspension within one day for this little act but nothing has been mentioned from the NHL about Orpik's knee-to-knee hit. Nice priorities NHL.

HBO to film Pens - Caps

This will be fun to watch. I can't wait to see the montage of Crosby and Ovechkin's pregame rituals. Crosby will be pouring over notes about his opponent while jogging in place and listening to some inspirational 80's music, taking every second seriously and professionally, while Ovechkin will show up to the locker-room late wearing sunglasses with 5 chicks hanging all over him.

    New Blank Red Wings Jersey

Right. I'm not interested in getting a jersey of someone who could be here a while, and who could be a great player. When it comes to a jersey, I want someone on the back who you could wear to a game 50 years from now and people know exactly who they are. Depending on their age, they either have instant memories, or remember the stories they've heard or things they've watched. Last year I bought one of those Granderson Tigers jersey t-shirts and already it's unwearable because of his trade to the Yankees. Good thing I didn't buy an actual jersey!

He is singlehandedly responsible for us not winning the Cup in 1995, 1996, 2004, 2006 and 2009.

From an employer/employee labour standpoint, he has shown almost total disrespect for those who work for the League.

    New Blank Red Wings Jersey

This is the problem with the new generation, no respect for adults. Yes Draper and Maltby are falling fast, but what you fail to realize is the thing that makes this team what it is, is loyalty to veteran players, you take care of them as long as you can and they take care of you, it's why we don't have contract hold outs, it's why our players defer salary. I have several jerseys with retired or aging players, I also have several with new players or prime players. The point is, to say Maltby is in the twilight of his career, and that he won't be around much longer if at all is one thing, to laugh at a person for suggesting they wear his jersey, and saying "he needs" to retire is something entirely different. Have some respect for the players that helped mold the Red Wings into what they are today, because Draper and Maltby were both a big part of that.

Real fans don't hang players on their team out to dry. These are your Red Wings, take em or leave em. Mistakes happen in the game. Players have bad seasons and a bad stretch of luck. Its hockey. This is why its a team sport. Win as a team. Lose as a team.
