Gery Bettman LOVES us, the NHL fixes games in our favor, Dan O'Halloran loves us, players always get suspended for stuff they do to the Wings, the Wings never get suspended, our lively end boards make us cheaters, and the War Room is always on our side. I say we go out and get a konopka type player. I think just one guy like that would do a hell of a lot for Abby and ericsson because he actually knows what he's doing. Than Abby and Ericsson wouldn't feel like they hAve to do all the dirty work.

Buffy will probably get nominated, but he'll need a lot more than a 2 point edge to beat out Nick. But yeah, pretty much since Orr, the Norris tends to go to great two-way defensemen. Kind of like the Selke goes to great two-way forwards. I really doubt Nick would have 6 if he wasn't so good offensively. Coffey probably wouldn't have any. But remember it is 'best defenseman', not 'best defender'. Looking at the overall efficacy of the player, it's hard to argue that Buffy hasn't been one of the most effective defensemen this year. Same with Green the last two years.

What do you mean by anything? Those two have made up, they get along. Lemieux said he respects McCarty for what he did, and understands it. He said no hard feelings. He's one single player in the other conference that we'll never really see until the Cup finals if both teams make it that far.

With a full roster I'd be inclined to agree with you... but after losing one of our top defensive Dmen on top of everyone else. Not so much. Our defensive deficiencies won't be truly worked out until more guys are back anyway, so just enjoy the win.

Should Holland model his GM style after Sutter's in Calgary? Lots of exciting trades to screw with team chemistry and pathetic results on the ice. I'll put my faith in the GM who's shown he knows how to make winning teams. Hells yeah. I can get behind that deal. How about Kindl and a 2nd for Hall? Then we'd really be cookin'.

If we could get Versteeg for Hudler (and picks/prospects or something), that'd be pretty rad. Not sure if we have the space though, and I will absolutely not check.

Datsyuk fought Perry and did fine and I don't find it likely that Pronger would fight a guy with a better fighting record on this team. He went after Dan Cleary for crying out loud. I think it has been stated countless times why Hudler remains on this team, slumping aside, and Miller brings a defensive game no enforcer would match. Considering our even strength play is the issue right now, I don't see how an enforcer is going to fix any of those problems. But good luck trying to convince us of that for the next 30 pages.

Fixed. Sorry, I had to spell check that monstrosity of a post. Welcome to LGW, but if you want people to take you seriously, maybe take a little time and make your post a little more readable. As far as your points go, I agree with the fact that we don't really have an enforcer type of player on our team, but as of right now, I don't really see why we would need it. We're beating teams on the score sheet. Sure Hudler is essentially invisible this year, but I thought he played a little harder against Edmonton the other night. Modano was playing well up until he got injured too. Like I said, I don't know really what caused you to want to bring this up because it's not like teams are taking runs at our players or our players are getting injured in dirty play. We're a skilled team all around and as long as we're playing hard, I don't see the need for an enforcer. Not exactly the best team, plus they play in a division that contains the bottom two teams in the much weaker Eastern Conference. I'd expect them to be close to the top of the conference, as well as the NHL. But they're 4th. Not the best.
