f*** the suspension. Next time Pittsburgh plays New York, Boogaard needs to end Cookes career. He has no respect for his fellow players and is only interested in hurting people. Guys like that in the old days didnt have long careers. f*** Matt Cooke. (And I dont even like Ovechkin, I just hate cheapshot pricks like Cooke.)

Their captain should really speak out against plays like this.

This is one of my biggest problems with the NHL's disciplinary philosophy; had Ovechkin tore his ACL or MCL from that very same hit, it would be front page news and people would already be talking about suspensions rivaling anything we've seen thus far this year. However, because Ovechkin was able to get up from the hit without being seriously injured, it's unlikely Cooke gets a suspension at all. Suspensions should be dealt with little regard to resultant injury and a primary focus on the intent.

Cooke won't get anything, he's a Penguin.

I don't think he should be suspended, I do however think he should have his career ended by a cheap shot in the next game

If he rushes back, we're even more screwed than we are without him. If he's not at 100%, it won't take much for something to go wrong (and let's face it, that's the story of our season thus far) and put us even further behind the 8-ball. I'd rather suffer through games right now to be assured that when he does take the ice, he's totally and completely healed.
