I like that they don't have a standard, though. Several arenas have their own characteristics and make it more enjoyable. What I don't like is how San Jose has copied everything the Wings do since McClellan took over, and now they seem to be the one team we can't handle.

Howard over Luongo, Bryzgalov, Price, Hiller, or Ward? That's crazy talk. He has outplayed none of them over the past couple of seasons and has done nothing to suggest he deserves their spot. Brodeur finished last season like a champ and, although he's not elite anymore, is still probably more important to the Devils than Howie to the Wings. Howard vs. Halak and Reimer. Reimer has been absolutely excellent in his limited time in the NHL, and has probably been Toronto's best player in that entire span. It's like taking Selanne or Potvin off the ballot in 1992-93. Halak I addressed earlier; he's the only reasonable choice and Howard isn't the best choice to replace him, anyway. My ballot goes like this: Jiri Hudler - Darren Helm - Valtteri Filppula - Niklas Kronwall - Jakub Kindl - Jimmy Howard

Next two games will be a good test for us and of course the west coast trip as well. Looking forward to seeing what our boyz can do. Go Wings Go!

Yeah, it should be illegal to play defense. I mean really, we want to see goals, not defense. Who needs a goalie anyway? All they do is clog up the net, and not let shots by. We should make them illegal, and just play 6 forwards on the ice at all times. The Flyers are just whiners here. They were scared of a defensive scheme, and couldn't think of a way to beat it, so they decided not to play. Everyone brings back how boring the Devils were when they trapped, and how that was cheating, but I don't remember them being a dynasty. There are ways to beat any kind of trap. You just have to sack up and play.

I don't see anything wrong with it. The kid has been a trooper since DRWs drafted him. He's worked hard and evolved his game as the DRWs asked him to do. When he finally gets his shot, he's waived and Tampa picks him ups, which is probably encouraging to him because they don't have the depth the Wings have. He played some games in Tampa, then he acquires major ear problems which set him back even more. He's become a fringe NHL player and he doesn't want to be a career AHLer. The KHL will take him with open arms, give him ice time, and pay him decent cash. He's worked hard and deserves to play where he's happy and makes good money. Like I said, the guy was a trooper, was dedicated to cracking the NHL, and is a hard worker trying to better his game. It's not like Yzerman 'needs' him in the AHL playing.

One of the most annoying factors while the sharks are just having their way with us... Todd McLellan... I can't stand his face, I can't stand the way he exploits us each and every game, I personally just hate the guy and i've never even met him. He's just a good frickin coach.

I cannot understand why so many posters believe Brunnstom should be given a spot in the top-6. He could not crack the NHL roster of the Leafs or Stars last season. I'm all for letting him earn that spot, but I don't think it should be given to him, especially above Cleary and Hudler/Bert when they are healthy.

the NHL cant make a rule about this. You cant make rules about everything, (their trying 2) let the game go, the play shouldnt be whistled dead either.

I hope I never watch another game that has 64 face offs in it again. That and the refs were so in shock they failed to blow the whistle, make the delay of game calls. Rule 73 I think.

It would be wrong to penalize a team that doesn't want to play into the trap. That's just giving other teams more reason to use the trap. Both sides are equally wrong. A team is just as much at fault for not forecheck pressuring as a team not advancing the puck. There will have to be a rule change of some kind in the future to combat this.
