    Thanks, Matt!

Just taking a second here to thank Matt and the rest of the LGW staff for another great LGW.com season of Red Wings hockey. Cheers to you all for all the hard work that you do to keep this great site running! :beerbuddy:

You guys are really late to the party with the Ericsson bashing. He was good all season and one of our best D-men in the playoffs.

    Where does Bertuzzi fit?

Lines go hot/cold all the time, Franzen-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi could work well again, but assuming everybody is healthy, I'd stick him on a 3rd line to start. Him with Helm and Abdelkader for example started off the season real well.

Pavs is great at talking to the media. Being understood isn't always his forte but when he gets his point across there's usually enough cleverness to make everyone love him.

    Where does Bertuzzi fit?

Bertuzzi WILL be on the third line, while filling in the top 6 when injuries or slow production occurs. He will also assume Holmstrom duties in front of the net on the powerplay from time to time. And he is a solid guy to have in the bottom 6 with some specialties that do help the squad. He is not by any means a slug out there.. he skates well enough and won't be pushed around. I'm happy to have him as a 3rd liner who can put up 35-50 pts.

    Where does Bertuzzi fit?

On my make a wish team its the line combo of Morrow-Helm-Bertuzzi... ...but in reality it will be Cleary-Helm-Bertuzzi, which, when healthy was a pretty good 3rd line. Either way, I think if they sign Parise, he goes to the 3rd, with (hopefully) Nyquist taking a spot on the 2nd with Z and Val...

You missed the point. Nick's gotten old, and he's not getting any younger. As one gets older, one becomes more prone and/or susceptible to injury. There's wear and tear, a certain degree of deterioration. Even something as simple as a deep bone bruise can prove more problematic when you're "old." Blah blah blah. No one's saying, "Hey, that deep bone bruise in his ankle? That's definitely the end for Nick."

Islanders? Bad contracts are kind of their wheelhouse.

Detroit has inside track on Parise

Minnesota has the greatest prospects in the history of the NHL. They will all enter the league and the Wild will go 82-0 during the season and 16-0 in the playoffs. Conversely, the wings have the wort prospects in the history of the NHL and will go 0-82. Suter and Parise have issued restraining orders against Ken Holland. Kenny is not even allowed to make a phone call to Parise or Suter or else he could get a life prison sentence. Maybe he can watch tv in jail. The great Minnesota Wild with their awesome prospects beating every team 10-0 with Parise and Suter leading the way. The Wings will not be making the playoffs ever again becaause every team in the NHL has better prospects.

Guy with stinky tie wins! Good for Dale. Plus, the Knights swept Kitchener last night, putting themselves in the OHL Final. The Capitals put on one of the most disciplined games of hockey played in a while. Ovechkin plays only sixteen in regulation; hopefully, he finally gets it.

The true insult would be a 42 year old getting $6+ million next year. We all respect the hell out of Nick but he was overpaid this year. It would be a tragic mistake to give him more than $2 million should he return.

wow, I think you've already made it abundantly clear you want Franzen out. Way to hijack another thread. In reference to what you said about Franzen I wouldnt be against it if it brought in the right player. To me, I would want someone other than Perry.

Nice of Trotz to say about Lids, but his post game BS with the Weber/Z ordeal pissed me off so Juggernaut Trotz can eat some man sausage.

The only number I care about with this series will be the Nielsen Ratings. This has disaster written all over it!

not gonna watch this one. do not have favorites. do not think this will be hockey.

f*** Nashville. Anyone rooting for them makes me sick. I hope someone smashes Weber's face into the glass and gets a $2500 fine, that is the going rate no?
  23. 1 point
Well it's more like $10,000 because King Henrik didn't slame someones head into the glass

    Teemu Pulkkinen

No injury, there's just no role for him on the first team right now. He also wouldn't be playing in the junior finals if he wasn't fit. Kind of a mystery altogether...

    Bettman threatens Edmonton.

I guess he subscribes to "if you build it, they will come..."
