LOL. I guess we hit a nerve. My favorite part is where they are crying that all the Americans get developed in the CHL but all five goals were scored by NCAA players.

I can see the "******* All-Star" being bought out, along with Seto....isn't it ironic? I am also willing to bet Tim Thomas gets bought out as well...They'd still be over the cap, but maybe with his concussion issues Marc Savard can also be bought out of Boston. Luongo is a good candidate along with Edler... This could be the year that Iginla leaves Calgary...or maybe just J. Bo. I can see them buying out Hudler too (just as long as he does NOT return to Detroit!) In Philly it may be a given that Pronger gets bought out, they'd still have to drop about $2M, but they could shave that pretty easily... I think San Jose finally says goodbye to Marleau Chicago will dump Hossa which will pave his way back to Detroit! I believe Lieno gets the Heevho out of Buffalo! Say goodbye to 1 goal Gomez in Montreal! Hamrlik and Wolski could be done in Washington! Toronto is a hard one, it all depends what the pick up Luongo for.... I could see Brewer, Salo or Ohlund out of Tampa All that young talent in Edmonton, could Smyth be done? Penner or Mitchell may be sent packing in LA LA Land... In the Motor City, such a pity, but because of nagging injuries, Eaves will bid adieu and just to clear some more space, Emmerton and Kindl, for a possilble pick up or two...Could big Bert be done? Last team over the $60M cap, but not by much, I can see Pittsburgh setting free, Pasqal DuPuis... I bit my tongue on Franzen just so I wouldn't get flamed because of my well known hatred for that puke...Buy out Eaves, Franzen, Emmy and Kindl...Pick up Hossa and Mitchell Question is, will Holland be man enough to cowboy up and admit his mistake by buying out Franzine and picking up Hossa? If he has ANY integrity, he will!

Which players will get bought out?

Franzens contract has a lot of cash still left on it = around 25 mil. It will be hard to buy that thing out.

I would be excited if I had not heard that 2-3x already during these 'negotiations'.

I could see Holland not buying anyone out, but I'd hope it would be Franzen. Maybe 4/5th now, with how lazy he plays. But for 10 more years (or whatever it is)? No thanks.

Forgot about Yashin. Franzen on our side?

Doug MacLean's personal financial situation and career opportunities do not invalidate his opinion...which seemed to be the premise of your statement. At any rate, I took a risk and wore my Bertuzzi jersey to work today... hoping for some magic to happen with the lockout talks.

    Lidstrom - it is time

The man gave his heart and soul to the Red Wings organization for two decades. Everything about Nick's character alone makes this suggestion unrealistic and selfish. Enjoy retirement, #5.

Any hockey fan who says they don't care if the season starts is a liar.

    Holland booed off Ford Field

I haven't seen anything substantiating the Wings position regarding the lockout, but you'd have to think they weren't happy about it. Ilitch was running a successful franchise even in the pre-cap era. Then he continued to do so under this last CBA. The more restrictive the CBA gets regarding player contracts and cap, the harder it will be for the Wings to use that financial success as a competitive advantage. I can't imagine Ilitch and Holland wanting a more level playing field, and certainly not losing half a season to get it.

Please not more teams in the playoffs. They have already watered down the best event in sports with forced parity.

    Holland booed off Ford Field

But Bettman said that it was unanimous, and so that was what was reported on the internet. It has to be true if it's on the internet. Oh, look! I'm the millionth visitor! Excuse me, I have to claim my prize!

    Countdown to January 14th

Yeah, I can't wait for the Red Wings to get swept in the Stanley Cup Finals by a team that is sub-.500 for the season either. Good times, my man. Good times.

I know many of you have seen this before, but I've redone the Website and cleaned up the drawings. This is the last time I'm going to do it, but I wanted to get them as nice as I could. Here are a couple pics, but visit http://www.newolympia.blogspot.com to see the new web site.
