Abdelkader's foot has a better scoring touch than his stick

    WMU's season.....

Western got blown out tonight 5-1 by U of M and was eliminated... WMU should make the tourney, but we'll see Danny would look fantastic in the red and white

    Trading Filppula

To everyone dogging Filppula, hes scoring more at even strength per minute than all forwards except Datsyuk, and that's him having a s***ty year.

In the name of Young Floating Mike Babcock, I will perform sexual favors for both Don Cherry and Pierre McGuire simultaneously if the Wings can just hang on to win this one in regulation. Amen.

The Red Wings have been very sloppy in the neutral zone all game. Gotta get the puck deep instead of these continued turnovers.

wow..is this game hard to watch on west coast time. Between those HIDEOUS Vancouver throwbacks and the sloppy play. I think Vancouver, as an organization, has consistently had the most horrible uniforms, from the flaming skate, to the "V" of black and gold, to the orca, the only one I like remotely is the original stick in box logo. The rest are just straight up awful.

The Canucks' theatrics really get on my nerves. They try to sell EVERY. LITTLE. THING.

Why in the world do you have Nyquist up if your not going to play him. Why do you have Tartar down then.

Well I'm going to start drinking early.

Why call up Nyquist to scratch him? It's not like there aren't other options to choose from in the unproductive forward category.

Cleary - Andersson - Abdelkader wasn't half bad as a shutdown line. That said, I wish that Tatar would replace Nyquist. Tatar is NHL-ready, Nyquist is not.

    Damien Brunner

i think hes developing well, hes getting much better defensively. the will go to the gritty parts, he does have a good shot and i dont mind a long range shot unless theres a better play to be made. i hope he develops patience so he will hold on to the puck longer and make smarter better plays. he always seems to get the puck and want to pass it off or shoot it off real quick.

    Damien Brunner

It's hard to judge a player when the entire team suddenly tanks. Plus, scorers go into slumps once in a while. If Datsyuk and Zetterberg can disappear for 6 or 7 games, I think we can cut Brunner, brand new to the league, a little slack.

    Datsyuk Leaving?!

Pasha has nothing left to prove here, a theke is named after him, the guy has won Stanley Cups and is easily one of the best hockey players and took a huge paycut to re-sign in Detroit. So whatever he decides to do, I won't hold it up against him. I am sure, he is missing his friends and family, so enjoy his last season.

Time to blow it up and rebuild

We can't blow this team up. They would lose games. Have you ever been around here when we lose? It's like we'll never win another game ever. If we blow up the team, hundreds of LGW people will die and no one will be left to feed their puppies. Besides, in the games where they've tried it, blowing hasn't been working all that well for the Wings this season anyway. What we need is a nice veteran d-man (think Cheli about 10 years ago) who will come in and help Smith and Lashoff develop, but can be counted on to take minutes when injuries strike. Kind of what Clolocolcoclcaoclocvio was supposed to be, only better and less injured. Then we need Helm back, and perhaps a top six forward, preferably a sniper. That's hardly blowing up the team, it's just tweaking it. We also need to clarify to the boys that "give it your all for a full 60 minutes" does not mean 60 random minutes in their days. It means "the 60 minutes when the clock is running".

    Dustin Byfuglien

I'd love Byfuglien here.. one of my favorite NHL players. With that said, I take anything Eklund says with a grain of salt and unfortunately if he's the only one reporting this i'd just write it off as pure speculation at this point. Don't get me wrong, i'd take this guy here in a second, but i'd like to see more guys reporting it before I get any kind of hopes up.
