Love Dano, always will us Newfs stand together. But it's some sad to see where he is today as a player compared to a couple years ago. He just can't skate or keep his balance well enough anymore to warrant decent ice time. Still a decent penalty killer, thinks the game well, but the body is broken down. He should be on the 4th line rotation, and nothing more. I hope Babs gets him away from Datsyuk.

this has been touched on before.... but the unfortunate side effect of this situation is that a lot of hate for hollan and babcock gets displaced onto cleary. i don't blame clear for wanting to come back to detroit. nor do i blame him for skating on whatever line he is told to be on. what angers me is that our gm would sign cleary knowing the roster problems it would create. the sad thing is that cleary isn't the worst contract up there as sammy is millions times worse. the issue is exacerbated by babcock. instead of playing cleary like the 4th liner he is getting paid to be, he gets put out there in quality minutes with top tier linemates. so i blame our gm for a bad signing and i blame our coach for misusing players. unfortunately, the player is the one that takes the blame publicly.

Well, if there are other examples of Brad Stuarts we should be signing them.

A thought occurred to me earlier today, one which, for me, kinda sorta maybe eases the hurt of our lackluster first quarter a bit: "Man. We really suck at home this season. We need to fix that s*** so we can finish at the top of our division/conference, so we can have that all-important home ice...advantage. ...."

The NHL can't put people into prison. lol The article also indicates that this is a two-way street, and they both have a mutual history of this back and forth domestic crap. That doesn't excuse anything, but puts things into perspective, that this was just one more of many fights these two have gotten into. I think we have all encountered a couple like this before in our life, where all they do is fight, argue and occasionally get into physical altercations...and yet they stay together, because they are both insane, or just love living in that type of environment.

While I understand, I think Cleary is topic-centric to everything Wings related this season. e.g. This thread wouldn't exist without Cleary being on the team.

Great. Just !@#$ing great. I don't know what Babcock is smoking. This is ridiculous. There is not a single forward on the team who would not do better than Dan Cleary on that line. And what's with the talk that Cleary needs to be better? What about the game in which he was scratched? What has he shown by way of improvement since then? Absolutely nothing! And now he's promoted to the first line? I wish one of the guys in the press conference would ask why the single worst forward on the team, one of such limited offensive ability that even the coach---his self-professed biggest fan---does not give him any power play time, is playing with Pavel Datsyuk. Even Samuelsson would be better.
