Wasting away in the minors while Dano falls into the corner on every other shift... but he's good in the locker room

Absolutely they do. It shows that you're pissed off that the guys you're playing are kicking your ass all over the rink and on the score board. The Wings lose like a bunch of wimps, they take it lying down. It doesn't hurt anything to show some goddamn moxie and be pissed off that you're losing an important game to a conference rival that is going to take an important 2 points from you. And I'm sure someone will say "Well they should be focused on scoring goals... not starting scrums/fights" Well, clearly they aren't doing a good job at the whole scoring goals thing, so do something! Don't roll over and die like they do.

Can't wait until Steven Weiss comes back and saves us.

Pavel Datsyuk is one of the most special players ever to lace up a pair of skates. He can do things that make most guys wake up from their dream covered in Tatar sauce. To think the amount of people saying it's time to trade him when we are watching a game where we're missing Dats, Z, Mule, Weiss and Howard's also not playing and the kids have hit 3 or 4 posts is completely absurd. You don't trade a guy like Datsyuk, ever. He's loyal to the team and deserves to stay for his whole career just like Stevie Y and Lids, and just like Zetterberg will.

The Wings have no passion what so ever, no drive to the net, no scrums after the whistle, no cycle game down low. Just going thru the motions.

Yeah, and I'm banging this tonight.

Our father who art in the Joe. Hockey be thy name. Thy will be done. The cup will be won. On ice, as well as in the stands. Give us this day our hockey goals. And forgive us our penalties, as we forgive those who cross-check against us, Lead us not into defeat. But deliver us to victory. In the name of the fans, ...Lord Stanley, and in the name of the Wings. Amen

Must be nice for these other teams to have their top players actually in the lineup

Yeah, let's follow the Oilers path. One by one the players left and after the Messier lead Cup, they've been a joke for the past 20 years. Good call.

It is called showing heart, something this team needs. Start to crosscheck, fight, hit the game is over just some damn emotion

I feel like you're trolling everytime you rag on Kronner. These last couple games haven't been his best, but "awful 75 percent of the time?" Have we been watching the same player all these years? Kronner is not this team's problem /captain save-a-Kronner

Poor Alfie. Should've gone to Boston.

Why isn't the great leader Cleary taking over the game and providing the leadership we need? Z was able to spark this team on his own.

This HAS to have something to do with Sochi. Like come on. From what I have read its Datsyuk who has expressed discomfort but they haven't said what specific injury he has - I'd like to know if doctors can actually quantify/see the injury itself using ultrasound. Normally I wouldn't think Datsyuk the type to sit out for self preservation. But this is the last olympics he likely plays and he wears the C for the Host Nation. I'd feel pressure too to come in healthy and dominate - and I wouldn't be as upset if Z wasn't left to carry the load and go down injured.

No he's not. If he was, he'd be an elite d-man. He isn't, although he's better than Ericsson. He just gets compared to Lidstrom, either consciously or unconsciously, because we've gotten used to our #1 guy not getting caught very often.

Hard to envision this team making the playoffs with these injury troubles. Also hard to envision the Olympics helping our injury troubles with so many players being sent over.

Face it Franzen's only concern is to play in the Olympics.

Well, when you overblow things people tend to get hurt. Then you have a whole team of guys out with groin injuries, and you fall out of playoff contention. Then you have too much time on your hands, and end up getting into weird hobbies like collecting American Girls dolls. Then you start going to American Girl doll conventions and everyone thinks you're a pervert. Just sayin'.

This exactly. I couldn't name 10 Dmen in the league I'd take over Kronwall as our #1 guy. And with the likes of Ouellet, Sproul and Marchenko coming up in the next few to push guys for jobs, I'm not worried about our D.

If it doesn't get any better and Gamecenter doesn't work in the 2nd period on my Xbox, I'm gonna leave this on the laptop muted and play NHL 14. That's how lame this s*** is.

TSN was saying that if rangers can't get callahan locked up he could be shipped out. Would be a good fit here.

I would like one of the Schenn brothers, Luke has great size and is a steady stay at home defenseman while Brayden would fix the search for a young center.

    NHL may rethink Sochi

If players want to go they will do so, period. Especially the Russian players, if the midget says "you don't go" they are going to tell hiim f*** you if you don't take us back after the olympics we are going to play in the KHL and making more money there...which then would piss off the owner = hotwater for the commissioner.

Hell no. Vanek is 30 year old winger on a fat contract.. There is no way I'd make that trade even if they could make it work cap wise. In another year or two Nyquist is going to be as good, maybe better because he's already more defensively responsible than Vanek.
