Not all his hits are clean, for sure. But that's beside the point. I understand what ya mean though.

Not to mention Babcock won't play fighters, the players who fought in the past stopped once they got to Detroit, and previously Holland has employed fighters. When the NHL started suspending people for clean hits

I have no problem with tough players, and I would actually like to have a player on our forth line that can throw 'em when needed. However, he has to be a hockey player first, not a pure goon that can barely skate without one iota of hockey IQ... I hate staged fights, and guys that fight every single game, because they know that's all they can do to remain in the National Hockey League. However, the Weber on Zetterberg incident, or Cowen on Datsyuk incident, or Lucic on DeKeyser incident, or any handful of others, I like having a guy that can step in and let the opposition know, if you're going to run our guys, there will be someone to answer to. I loved when Ericsson went after Nolan for the hit on Helm. I'm not anti-fighting by any means, I'm just anti-players-like-McGrattan, that can't play hockey.

When was the last time Kronwall hit someone. Not that he is all that tuff... Instead we have our top talent getting in situations they shouldnt be.

Can't we all get a long. Don't forget we already have an enforcer. Our "powerplay" damn that lines so old and tired. Next time Weber smashes Hanks head into the boards for free. Don't forget we'll get ours on the PP. Oh wait if I recall there was no call on that play. Once again we lost that year as well. Fighting DOES have a place in the game. BUT you must be able to contribute elsewhere on the ice as well.

Because we're Wings fans first. We won't root for someone else. But that doesn't mean I have to accept every cheap piece of europuss that Holland has to stick on the roster. And if that's not enough, let's just say I want an enforcer on the team just to see kipwinger throwing temper tantrums and starting threads about how useless that player is.

Probably because we grew up Red Wings fans and they've only become "pussified" in recent years. I'm not going to stop rooting for a team because they're a bunch of *******, but I certainly have the right to mourn the loss of team toughness. And I don't necessarily want a talentless goon; I'd settle for Chris Neil, Matt Martin... even Lucic, or Proust. Anyone who actually still knows how to throw a check or stand up for a teammate will suffice.

Close. When I was a child I was a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. As luck would have it, premier NHL enforcer Craig Coxe had volunteered to be a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I, being a lifelong hockey fan, was chosen as his "little". I was so excited that I was going to get to spend time with a real, live, NHL enforcer. No more gushing over hockey cards, facebook photographs, and in-game stills for me. This was the real thing! Never had I been more "pro-enforcer". Craig Coxe is generally unreliable. Both as a human being, and as a "big". That's why I hate enforcers GMRwings. Well that and because Brian McGuffin is "better at life than me".

See we aren't that different then. The only small difference is a that I don't mind staged fights between two willing players, if it helps them paying their bills and enjoy a very wealthy life more power to them.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around that logic...when no one is throwing punches everyone starts to think about the D (and I don't mean Detroit.)

Frank I agree with you on one point, they shouldn't have to worry about the rats. Unfortunately even with Probert and Kocur in the line-up the team still had to worry, in fact there was so much fighting back then I'm inclined to believe there are less rats now. I'm old enough to have watched the wings in the eighties and while not many of the games were televised (I feel like one year there were only 17 games I was able to get) I can say with some certainty there is at least the same amount of cheap shots now as then if not less.

Good and fair question to be honest I will be unhappy and all that stuff but I am not a bandwagoner and jump ship when times getting hard - great coone track by the way - I became a wings fan back when this team was great and tough and they have brought lots of joy.. So yeah that's basically it But I am not going to say sorry for wanting payback when people try to take advantage of the wings. I have a question for you too.. Can you honestly tell me you didn't like seeing Downey beating the hell out of Laperierre? The whole team read fired up they came together and stood up for each other so you really don't like that stuff. Is it to hard to understand that our stars and small players shouldn't have to worry about all the rats in the league and focus on their game?

Don't forget ***. Frankgrimes made it clear above that if there's no fighting, hockey will become "as homosexual as other sports". The great Champion of fighting wants enforcers in the game, why? So it doesn't turn ***. Lol. Even if I didn't care about fighting in hockey I'd be against it just so I didn't have to agree with anyone who thinks something like that.

I'm confused about one thing when it comes to frankgrimes and GMRwings1983 and whoever else there is that dies for fighting and goons that don't have a clue how to actually play hockey... You're all very aware of the fact that Holland wants nothing to do with guys like McGrattan, a "player" like that will never be employed by the Detroit Red Wings, so why are you still fans of such "weak", "pussified" team?... I'm not telling you you shouldn't be a Red Wings fan, but I'm just curious as to why you are?...

Thank you was about tho post this but you've already done so ☺ The let's make hockey as *** as other sports crowd won't be happy till every team is as soft as the wings and hitting gone from the game. Heck t those are the same guys who think Kronwall should hit less instead of more... So I'm not surprised

That's because Holland has pussified us for too long. I get the feeling that you grew up playing hockey and lost your roster spot to an enforcer.

Nooooo Kip, enough with the serious, anti-fighting rhetoric, you were doing so well dealing with the TRUCULENCE! Jiri Hudler and his 2 PP goals. Duh.

That's right. He wants Lucic to go out of his way to hurt someone, so that McGuffin can come back and make Lucic not hurt people anymore. And that, in a nutshell, is the mentality of the pro-fighting crowd.

OK, which one of you asked Ansar this question. You little superstar, you. Q: What exactly is it in (Kyle) Quincey's game that gets him top-four minutes? I play hockey at a very high level so I know what's going on and I 100 percent honestly don't see why Quincey continues to get top-four minutes, let alone even play every night. - Kelly
