Well, it was a great comeback, great game. I can live with this loss. No issues with Matthews either, seems like a nice kid and he's extremely good. But hey, Mantha with a 3-point night. Fans should be able to take some positives out of this one.

Mantha and Larkin are as good as who? Matthews? Are you serious? Larkin and Mantha are good players but not even in the same level as Matthews. Kid has 20 goals. Larking and Mantha don't have 20 combined.

Why is that? I know Mrazek hasn't been great, but alot of the goals the Coreau has allowed were D breakdowns, same with Mrazek. Goalies are supposed to make the first stop, with rebounds, your teammates should be there.

In fairness, I do feel Matthews is better than Mantha and Larkin.

well Z and Mantha and Ott showed up to play. Atleast it was exciting there at the end. Take the point, better than 4 to 1 and no points.

Probably blew our load for the next 2 weeks with that comeback attempt, but the 1.1 second goal was the most exciting thing of the season by far.

Well they made a game of it to say the least, it was exciting and fun to watch. Nothing negative coming from me, great outdoor game and a thrilling finish.

He's been great lately for sure, as I thought he would be. It's nice having a Ben Bishop-sized advantage in goal.

I really sit here and wonder how much different we might look right now if Mantha is on the team from day one. Playing with Z all season, none of that wasted line juggling with Z and Tatar together accomplishing nothing, and juggling around the other 3 lines and maybe figuring something productive out. Z and Mantha should not be split going forward, I don't think that's much of a debate. What they could have contributed in all of these games when Mantha wasn't here and we only scored 1 all game. Who knows.

I'd encourage my kid to start screaming "stranger danger" as soon as they started the interview

By your standard was Lidstrom a #1? He wasn't physical at all. How about Coffey, he won a certain trophy a couple times and wasn't close to a shut down defender Regardless you seem to be defining a #1 as elite level. I think that's far too narrow. If a guy can be trusted to play a lot of minutes in all situations, and it's not just because he plays on a crap team, he's a #1. Kronwall absolutely was a #1 before his knees were shot, even when he was behind Lidstrom. There were only 10 or 12 guys better than him league wide, especially when you realize he put up a decent point total playing second pair minutes on the second PP unit. Yeah I seem to recall reading that they automatically get a top 5 pick somewhere. Must be nice to buy a franchise, pillage other teams players, and get a high first rounder. I find the amount of players allowed to be protected by each team, who spent years drafting and developing and building their roster, to be much too low as well. What is it..10-12 players total or something? I think expansion teams should have to find and sign their own players. There's tons of non-NHL pro players out there, plus unsigned UFA's. And then there's the high first rounder to help out too. Yeah sure, your team will suck for awhile, but that's how it should be. It shouldn't be instantly competitive just because you put down the expansion fee and built an arena.
