I don’t think he’s a 1st line talent, but I think he’s been really good otherwise. He’s a really good forechecker and creates tons of chances for Larkin and Zadina off his ability to get to loose pucks. I don’t hate him there until Bert gets back. Guys like him are so frustrating because if he worked as hard as Namestnikov (for instance) he’d be a 40 goal guy. Instead he’s a 20 goal guy who pisses away his talent about 40% of the time.

I love it that they took CHI to OT. I am so proud of them... the Wings look SO much better than last season. yeah, I know they could hardly have looked worse, but to my eyes, they look great. They play hard (most of them)

I think if Brome can finally pot one, he can open it up a bit. He's noticeable each game, and plays with good energy, but still no points on the season and 8-9 games now on the top line. Call me nuts, but I'd go as far as experimenting with Glendening centering the 2nd line between Ryan and Fabbri. His faceoffs have been great and he brings energy.

Team has improved defensively by almost an entire goal against compared to this stage last season. Imagine how much better that stat would be if not for all the Covid protocol roster issues early on. The first 4 games the roaster showed continued improvement. Then Covid losses. But ever since players came back (specifically most of the second line), I've been pretty happy with how things have gone. These one goal losses will eventually start to turn into one goal wins.

I completely agree with the bolded. I'm typically very happy after these games, even when they lose. For a few years people kept saying that they were a team that didn't have the horses, but they played like a team that didn't have a clue. NOW we look like a competent hockey team...that just doesn't have the horses. Except for the powerplay. Holy hell that powerplay is shameful. I have no idea how they can't scrape together ONE decent powerplay unit out of Larkin, Mantha, Hronek, Rabbri, Ryan, Gagner, Bert, Zadina. Any five of those guys should be able to score...sometimes?

Oh well, good game overall, they kept up and looked stronger than they have since before the last Nashville game. Until the next.

Mantha is sooooo lazy. Imagine how good he’d be if he hustled, like, at all.

Brome isn't a 1st line player, experiment over. Reunite Larkin and Mantha. Djoos with a real nice goal there.. good patience.

That top line is struggling to produce and need to be broken up.

Theodor Niederbach with another goal today. For those keeping track of him in Sweden, he started the year torching the J20 league before earning a call up to the SHL where he looked pretty overwhelmed. He's since been loaned to the Allsvenskan (2nd tier men's league) where he's got 8 pts in 14 games. He was on the younger side of his draft class so its good to see him playing well in a men's league, albeit a 3rd tier men's league. Gotta figure this bodes well for him considering he's still an embryo.

Tough break, Wings came out flying. Hope that doesn't kill the momentum.
