    2021 Off-Season (Too Soon?)

If it is for a 3rd and the rights to negotiate with Bernier as they are reporting, what a steal!

    2021 Off-Season (Too Soon?)

Feels confirmed for basically a third. Holy s*** what a great trade!

To put things in perspective, this is what the Atlanta Thrashers got in 1999: Each franchise was allowed to protect either one goaltender, five defensemen, and nine forwards or two goaltenders, three defensemen, and seven forwards instead of the 7 forwards, 3 defensemen, and 1 goaltender gifted to Vegas and Seattle. # Player Drafted from 1. Trevor Kidd (G) Carolina Hurricanes 2. Norm Maracle (G) Detroit Red Wings 3. Corey Schwab (G) Tampa Bay Lightning 4. Petr Buzek (D) Dallas Stars 5. Brett Clark (D) Montreal Canadiens 6. Kevin Dean (D) New Jersey Devils 7. Maxim Galanov (D) Pittsburgh Penguins 8. David Harlock (D) New York Islanders 9. Jamie Pushor (D) Mighty Ducks of Anaheim 10. Darryl Shannon (D) Buffalo Sabres 11. 2021 Off-Season (Too Soon?)

According to The Athletic's Hurricanes beat writer he was asking for 3.5 million per season, Carolina didn't want to say it, and they didn't want to go to arbitration.

Seattle Expansion Draft: Who you pick?

Wyshynski belongs to one of two groups: Group 1: The type of person that s***s on other people for liking pumpkin flavored things in the autumn. Group 2: The type of person that "ironically" defends pumpkin flavored things from people in Group 1 because he doesn't want to admit he secretly likes pumpkin lattes in November.

I just realized with ESPN rolling into to town that we're going to have to deal with more Wyshynski. Christ.

Dude, if Seattle were allowed to take every Wings player available, Detroit would lose nothing. Even some of the players protected are very expendable. We're like Lloyd and Harry in Dumb and Dumber. The guy keeps worms in his living room.

You're comparing Buffalo (Botterill / Adams) to Detroit (Yzerman)? Eichel is a whiny little b****. Have you heard a single player being upset / wanting out of Detroit because of the rebuild? Serious question. I haven't. Have you? I think they all know what's going on, and they trust Yzerman. Anyway, we're getting away from the original point. It would not be wise to add any of the "big fish" in free agency to long-term, high dollar contracts. Yzerman is going to continue the low-risk, short-term, low dollar contracts this off-season, continue building through the draft, make a few savvy trades, and get this team out of the gutter the right way.

I don't understand, seems like Larkin would be thrilled to spend the best years of his career toiling away on a bottom feeder team who's only objective is to cross their fingers and hope they get lucky on their (less than 20%) chance to draft a player good enough to replace Dylan Larkin at the top of the lineup. Why wouldn't he be pumped about that?

Was the Leddy trade trying to expedite the rebuild? Or was it merely an effort to provide some support to the existing roster? Because he will make this team better. Wings desperately need another top 6C. Danault's one of the better 2C in the NHL. Danault's available. Yzerman has enough cap to send himself to outer space. VS you can't do that. Cool

The more I think about it the more I like Danault here. Let Veleno and Rasmussen slaughter each other for that 3C spot. In 3-4 years when Rasmussen prevails he removes Danault's old azz from the top 6. Much better scenario then handing the 2C spot this season to a guy who played 3rd line wing in europe or a guy who's closer but still putting it together in the NHL. Danault = good 4 now, good 4 future.
