How I feel about Yzerman thus far in this year's trade deadline...

I'd be okay with that in the case of the Boston pick, but I'd rather we use the Islanders pick to move up and get a top center this year. If we can move up and take Carlsson or Fantilli and then pick three times in the 2nd round this could be the draft that essentially ends the rebuild. Dude. This is getting ridiculous haha.

That's Matthews/Marner like greed from my point of view...Boston isn't likely gonna have the $$$ for Bert this summer - that is if they want to keep him.

I hate the delayed gratification as much as anyone, but this is actually a pretty good deal. Bertuzzi's trade value is pretty low and there's a really really good chance Boston is much worse a year from now considering the makeup of their team. I hate to see those two guys go, they're both really good players. But we're picking FIVE times in the first two rounds (this season). That's HUGE. We now have the assets to move up and land a real difference maker at the top of the draft.
