Christ now Shapiro is reporting that, not only would other teams have traded something for walman had yzerman shoppedhim, but that SJS would have claimed him on waivers, and did not ask for the 2nd rd sweetener when SY offeredhim free, but happily took it. Walman better turn out to be a pedophile or something, because this way worse than Holland level.

Finally the Walman trade seems to make sense. It wasn´t just a cap dump or Walman being some dickhead. Yzerman wanted #11 from Buffalo but knew they would ask for a kings ransom from a division rival. So he gave a 2nd rd pick to SJ for the trade up + Walman and will now get #11 for #15

I don't really buy this particular "theory" at all. If it's true Yzerman is an idiot. It doesn't make sense to trade all of that to have say on 1 pick ahead of you. That player you supposedly want so bad at 15 could be gone at 13, 10, or even 5. If there is a handshake deal it makes way more sense that there's a 3way deal with NYR coming, or SJS has agreed to claim a contract on waivers that has an NTC. It's possible the Gibson trade is holding all this up.

He's not a fighter or even a powerforward. And he's average sized. He's a scoring winger that happens to have a big motor and huge compete level. His offense and skating look very good from what I can see. But from what I'm reading is the puck seems to follow him around the ice because he skates every shift like his life depends on it. And he will hem you into your own end with a nonstop forecheck. Like a Filppula who gives a s***

Hearing the Wings are looking at bringing back Teemu Pulkkinen. Could be risky, but Elliotte Freidman noted that Pulkkinen has put on 400 lbs, so he may be better equipped to handle the rough stuff than he was before. 9 yrs x $4 billion should get it done. Mike Grindline McAllister Timbits Ciravelli (TSNCNBCESPN Ontario) believes the Wings have expressed interest in legendary basketball player Michael Jordan. Though Jordan has never played hockey, he is quite tall. Could be a good add, given Husso's injury problems, though Yzerman has said he expects Husso to be fully healthy come training camp.

Depending how the board shakes out I wouldnt hate Solberg. Could use a LH Seider lite. Still think this team should be swinging for the fences for offense in the 1st round though. Jiri jr would be a nice swing in that same mold in the 2nd/3rd round.
