Yesterday Mannheim played at league leading Munich (3-2 OT win) and he looked more like a Datsyuk type of a player. Sneaky, stealing/retrieving pucks all the time. Unfortunately we don´t have takeaway stats but it must have been at least five yesterday. He is extremly successfull along the boards in the neutral zone through his stickhandling and speed given his age and weight in a man´s league. That´s why he seems more of a passer, he is stealing pucks and creating brakeaway, 2on1 sitiuations that way. He is able to do everything at real high speed, very good anticipation offensively and defensively, playing the right way. Third most shots on the team, is playing pk and pp. #8 in scoring(25 GP, 5-18-23, 2nd on team) in at least 1:38 less ice time than the players ahead of him. The league leading scorer has got 30 points in as many games but with 4:38 more ice time per game. you can only guess how good he will be, to me he looks like a well rounded player who plays like a vet out there, the right way, responsible, combined with excellent speed( first steps an topspeed) and skill. Whoever picks him will get a real good player.

Regardless what happens with Seider this season, he will most definitely be up full time next season. Let's say he has this sort of production the next three seasons... 2020-21 (19 years old) - 20 points 2021-22 (20 years old) - 30 points 2022-23 (21 years old) - 50 points Would you prefer to negotiate his next long term contract after two full seasons? Or three fulls seasons? Sliding ELC's is what teams up against the cap should be doing. Not rebuilding teams with a s*** to of cap space. Again, if we think this kid is the real deal (I do), get him up for those 10 games, burn that first year and get him closer to restricted free agency.

I say burn it. One less year on his ELC would likely be a good thing. That is, if he's as good as we all think and hope he will be... Bowey hasn't been great by any stretch, and I may be in the minority, but I still like him more than Biega at this point. He's much better offensively, and not a whole lot (if at all) worse defensively.

This is gonna sound crazy, maybe even seditious or radical... But Bertuzzi and Mantha's contracts have nothing to do with Seider's, and Larkin is locked in for another 3+ years and has no bearing in the conversation. There. I said it.

Big thank you to you, the official LGW DEL scout "With the 1st overall selection in the 2020 NHL entry draft, the Detroit Red Wings select... Timothy Stutlze"

As much as I'm dying to see Seider, I say wait for the last 9 games of the season. No need to burn a year on this disaster.

I could see matching Bernier (3 mil) and giving him that for 1 more year. Will depend what the goalie market looks like this summer. Their might be more and better teams than us going after Markstrom.

For anyone not already in the discord, here is the invite: https://discord.gg/hQJDfW I recommend joining ASAP, as discord invites expire after about a day or two. All you have to do is enter your email and you'll be in. It's basically just a chatroom, but like Dabs said, it's a place we can all go to say WTF when LGW is down. EDIT: if you're reading this in the future, PM me and I'll send you a new discord invite.

    Larkin's Stick Slamming

It's starting to get old, I agree. What he did against the Caps, tripping up Ovechkin after the empty net goal, breaking his stick, going to the bench, breaking it some more. He needs to carry himself better or maybe captain considerations need to go elsewhere. I hate to be like that, and at the beginning of the season I was all for giving him the C, but now i'm second guessing that. Lead by example Larkin, all eyes are on you. Acting out after every loss is making the team look worse. Keep it under control.

    LGW Upkeep

Admittedly, not all of my posts are winners. Most probably aren't. I definitely do the low-energy s***posting thing. And maybe that's something I should change, for the betterment of the community. Because it's probably fair to say we've got a bit of a chicken-egg thing going on, where, yeah, maybe the tongue-in-cheek banter is a consequence of there not being many people here...and/or maybe it's *part of the reason why we don't have many people here in the first place*. Ultimately, though, I do think it mostly comes down to the Wings sucking. Look at the Blackhawks. No one gave a s*** about them for a long time. Why? Because they were the model of futility. But then they got some great young talent and they started winning and all of a sudden people cared. Am I accusing Wings fans of being fairweather fans? I mean, sure, I guess. I'm not even saying it disparagingly. Most fans have limited time on their hands. If the team is garbage and it looks like management and ownership aren't in a huge rush to change things, why should fans -- people with limited time on their hands -- post obsessively about the team on an internet forum every day? The current regulars -- myself included -- are outliers, not the norm. I don't want to be defensive about any of this, mostly because I don't feel there's anything I need to be defensive about. But, in my defense (if a defense is called for), I'm doing what I can to get people talking. If people want to talk in decidedly non-spammy ways, there are GDTs, there's a thread devoted to discussing Wings prospects, there's a thread devoted to discussing the 2020 draft, there are multiple threads devoted to discussing the rebuild, there are some threads I've been wanting to make for a while now but haven't because I'm kind of waiting for some other people to organically start those discussions. I don't want this to become The Dabura Place. At the risk of coming off as really self-centered, I'll say that there are days where I fear people see this as The Dabura Place, like I'm some egotistical dingus who's just decided to take over these boards and circle jerk with The Boyz. That's really not the case. I don't have very many interesting things to say, but my hope is that if I'm always giving people reasons to post stuff here (that's what I'm trying to do), good things will happen. It's entirely possible that my efforts are misguided. It's entirely possible that my efforts aren't necessarily misguided but my approach misses the mark. I'm open to suggestions. Though, I agree with CRL that "Be the change you want to see" is probably the best attitude right now for each and every one of us. Anyway, here's Wonderwall...

Some say its spam, But it's not, but it is. Pick one I don't think we have a spam problem at all, unless you're counting the Koreans and the Russians. I think we have a serious problem with the team being absolute suck. Posting is even slow on the Wings HFBoards these days. The diehard Wings fanbase is smaller than most people realize I think. Most stop watching or watch something else when the team is this bad. In regards to LGW specifically, I'm at a loss at what to do. People like myself, Dabura, Krsmith, and 91ryans, are in here daily trying to maintain this place. I'm inclined to say be the change you want to see in this instance. If you find any of our personalities abrasive, I'm inclined to say beggars can't be choosers if you don't wanna participate yourself.... IDK. I'm sure it comes off dickish but I truly mean to be honest. Team needs to better for folks to have interest. In the meantime we can take solace in the fact that we were here in the bad times. True fans through good and bad.
